Agreed. A lot dont realize just how little it takes to get an assault charge. Probably will end up with less by the time all is said and done.

It would be nice if people realized that they are YOUNG men... we all were there...Stupid things happen... And now that we are older we are smarter right? Lets just let things play out... Lat and Howard are probably still sleeping off their hangovers and there are over 100 posts about how stupid they are...

My concern isn't so much of what he did or the punishment. I am sure that the time will fit the crime. What I fear is the longer they are in jail......the more time Ferentz has to recruit them.
I'll take the over by a comfortable margin. Nobody speculates and comes to baseless conclusions quite like college football fans in the offseason. Let this thing breath for a few days until all the facts are released and we see what charges stick and just how serious it was.
Agreed. Also, these kids think they can get away with anything because they are athletes. They need to be put in their place and if CPR starts kicking them off the team or suspending them (not just for "spring ball" for games) while they lose their starting spots im fine with that. The thing that makes me mad is that we are paying for their tuition for them to act like idiots and think they are gods gift from earth. (all scholarship athletes not just ours.)
Do they really have that much to lose? The most anybody gets these days for most brushes with the law is a few trips up and down the stadium stairs and a game or two suspension. Big deal. Their scholarship (and hence their financial security) is untouched.
You want to get people's attention? Start messing with their financial security.
Research actually supports this quite well. Run ins with the law start at the age of 16-17, and climbs steadily till the mid twenties and then subsides.
Exaclty. Who cares about this crap, as long as we win football games its tolerable.
To quote Gary Dolphin "Winning games will make this all go away"
If we're going that route, then at least take the "Honor before Victory" sign down. No reason to pretend...
