Oh I love comparing apples to oranges!

Completely different situation. wouldnt be just a week thing. Talk to me if Roberts or Flagg werent going to play at all.

I can all but guarantee you Flagg would be nowhere to be found as he would be prepping to be a top 3 NBA draft pick
Um I just have to chuckle here.

Why are you so adamant in “defending” the situation here? And who are you defending!? The staff (for some reason)? The Team!? Keshon as an individual!?

It is extremely bizarre for a player like Keshon to not be traveling with the Team.
It is not kind of bizarre, it is extremely bizarre.
It does not "make sense".
Cooper Flagg would absolutely 1000% be right there with his team if he has an injury. 1000 times out of 1000.
We, as fans, certainly do not need to worry about the situation. But we, as fans, absolutely will speculate, because that's exactly what fans do.

It does not mean Keshon is a bad egg or a bad teammate or whatever
It does not mean that the staff is bad or handled it bad or anything bad.
These situations have more nuance than literally any of us will ever know. And hopefully, some lessons to be learned as well.

It just simply means that it is extremely odd/bizarre that the heartbeat of the team is NOT going to be with the Team during the most critical portion of the season, a portion of the season that kids and players and families and parents literally dream about. That's it! It is OK to call it for what it is - very strange. It sucks for all involved. And that is OK too - move on and grow from it!

And as for his presence being a "distraction". LOL - goodness, what a silly thing to believe. Reporters can (and will) continue to ask questions about Keshon, the team, the vibes, etc. even when he is not physically there. Hell, they might be more inclined to ask about him - "hey, uh, why isn't one of your teammates - who was legit on his way to being an All-American back in the non-con - not... here with you? Are you guys in communication? Texting? What are you texting about?" Keshon factually can train and rehab with the Team in Milwaukee (LOL, he wouldn't be taking up valuable Team therapy resources - he's been a part of the Team for 2 friggin years! The training staff is really good about managing rehab and injuries for all of the players, many at the exact same time)

It is wild to me the amount of mother hens that go apesh*t over this stuff...

End of rant. Now let's go win a couple and keep dancing to the Sweet 16 :)

Hypothetically, say there was a discussion between Keshon and his Dad...and Keshon was frustrated about not getting what he feels he's worth and would have liked to have gotten more money...but then, Keshon's Dad, unbeknownst to Keshon, goes to TJ and demands more money for his son or he wasn't going to play...like some Dads would likely do...TJ talks to Keshon...now at this point, Keshon could have just said, "yeah, I said that to my Dad, but I didn't say I wouldn't play...I want to play and try my best to be ready to play. What I've been paid is fine."...If Keshon would have said that, he'd be with them in Milwaukee. But if he DIDN'T say that and reinforced what his Dad told TJ...then we get where we are at today. No Keshon. TJ just gives us the story of Keshon still being injured...which is truthful...and that protects Keshon from what is now just speculation and not being publically vilified for wanting more $ at this point by not just Cyclone Fanatic but the press too.
...or he could just be hurt and can't go.

Makes sense because none of the media members would create narratives to distract fellow teammates if you were there just to watch.

I dont understand why you cant comprehend this.

TJ has built a team of filled with a majority of role players, albeit good ones, but role players nonetheless. If your a Nate Heise/Watson/Kelderman type, how much mental focus can you have wondering if you are going to play or not? Doing it this way, these guys know they will play, and can focus on the actual game, not whether they'll get in or not

If you think an 2 time All-Conference player not being there is less of a distraction and will cause less questions, I don’t know what to tell you. Business as usual would be that injured player being there on the bench supporting his teammates. Especially after the way, I believe it was Jefferson, described Keshon the other day as being like another coach on the bench during his injury.

The thing is his dad may not have even been involved, if it was a money-related issue. Details may be exaggerated, but I think some are too dismissive that there’s no “there” there… Regardless, Williams & Blum today allege no personal issues or financial disagreements. Gilbert apparently still has access to team facilities and there are members of the staff in Ames working with/helping him. Everyone should listen to that anyway, because Blum said it will be a “busy” offseason, implying there won’t be too many guys taking the ISU “discount.” If you wanna worry about something, I’d suggest that
