If players are mercenaries then collectives (currently) have to operate like franchises, and forking over thousands for a player who's already at 80% would've been dumb
Agreed. Also, NIL agreements need to start having built in post-season bonus structures that incentivizes play over non-play. The "hold out until you pay me more" pattern isn't working.

Holy ****. Can we close this thread yet?

His wishy washy injury status has clearly been a distraction to the team, and would most likely continue to be a distraction so he didnt travel. This team internally still has very lofty goals for this year that are in reach, and TJ wants mental clarity and defined expectations for the players that are playing.

Those of you that want to hunt around for a conspiracy theory, go do some digging on the Titanic

Im not sure if you saw this or not but he isnt playing in the tournament
Oh no I was just curious what all the Keshon supporters thought? If I had poured my heart and soul into that program and had an injury so severe I couldnt play when my team needed me most I sure as S would be there front and center to cheer my teamates on.

Makes sense because none of the media members would create narratives to distract fellow teammates if you were there just to watch.

I dont understand why you cant comprehend this.

TJ has built a team of filled with a majority of role players, albeit good ones, but role players nonetheless. If your a Nate Heise/Watson/Kelderman type, how much mental focus can you have wondering if you are going to play or not? Doing it this way, these guys know they will play, and can focus on the actual game, not whether they'll get in or not

Now that he’s completely off the team, I’ll say what I’ve heard. I heard from 2 different people with sources (and no, I do not know who these sources are) that Keshons dad demanded additional money to play in the tournament. How much I don’t know. Obviously he was hurt and who knows how effective he’d be. But, I would bet that he would want to give it a try…whether it was this week or next week.

To me, an injury that isn’t seasonal ending like an acl or broken leg or requires immediate surgery, you usually see players as questionable or out indefinitely. Keep trying to rehab and see if he can go eventually. So, when they just flat shut him down, that raises questions. This rumor makes more sense than any other explanation I’ve heard.

I would guess this is between the dad and TJ and Keshon would rather play, but I have no idea.
I’d have no problem at all telling my dad to **** off if he did that, or tried talking for me. Biggest stage of his young life and dad does this. SMH.

Yeah if Cooper Flagg or J'Wan Roberts couldnt go this week due to injury Im sure they would just stay home in fear of being a distraction to the team.

Oh I love comparing apples to oranges!

Completely different situation. wouldnt be just a week thing. Talk to me if Roberts or Flagg werent going to play at all.

I can all but guarantee you Flagg would be nowhere to be found as he would be prepping to be a top 3 NBA draft pick

So you heard from two people who claim to have sources inside the men’s program but you don’t know who those sources are? I mean, I can find a hundred “sources” who would testify under oath the Earth is flat or we faked the moon landing. Doesn’t mean it is true.

Maybe it is dad demanding money. Maybe it is Dad wanting his kid to get better. Maybe Dad isn’t involved at all. All we know is that he isn’t playing. Who cares as to why.
