Just so everyone is clear

same story every time the Huskers lose, had the situation been reversed the talk about how the Blackshirts forced 8 turnovers would be out of control. Heck they even have excuses when the win, in the MIzzou game the Blackshirts were why MIzzou couldn't score but the WEATHER was what shut down the Husker offense......Husker fans never change.

And how much do we exploit those turnovers if AA and A-Rob are healthy? It's an unprecedented *** whooping. If we're playing the "what if " game, it's going both ways.

Nebraska fumbled the ball away 5 times inside Iowa State's 10 yard line (4 inside the 5). Iowa State could not move the ball at all. if there was any blowout left on the field, it was in the Big Red's favor. Had they converted on all of those fumbles inside the 5, plus Paul's inexplicable fumble inside the 10 with nothing but the 5 yard line between he and the endzone, NU wins the game 42-9. I guess it's payback for 1987 when Nebraska beat Colorado 7-3 only because CU running back JJ Flanagan fumbled the ball off his own knee pad while running all alone down the field for what would have been the winning TD.

Iowa State deserved to win, or more properly Nebraska deserved to lose, but don't kid yourself into thinking Iowa State in any way, shape or form "whipped" Nebraska. If Iowa State's defense was good enough to force a fourth down inside of their own 35 yard line even once, Henry kicks a FG and Nebraska wins. It was one of those crazy days where Iowa State's defensive ineptitude helped them out.

Isn't it your own Bill Fennelly who says "score before you turn it over"? That was Nebraska's problem, sooner or later on every drive they turned it over. Had Iowa State actually forced a 4th down at some point, they lose. That's called irony.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers = 2009 Sun Belt champions!

The irony of your comment is ISU did, when it mattered most. Granted for the first 3 quarters of the game Nebraska lost the game as much as ISU won it. However, your ironic comment holds no water when the game was on the line in the fourth quarter.

Very early in the decisive quarter UNL blocked a FG and it to around the 35. The ISU D held to 3 an out and yielded no yardage to even allow a Henry FG attempt. With the way the game had unfolded punting was the right call and pinned ISU back on the 6 yard line. As an idiot, I mean Nebraska fan, you had to fell pretty good about your chances at that point. The pink shirts had held you in the game. With the game on the line and playing in Lincoln, no one assumed they would collapse like they did in Blacksburg.

Do I need to remind you what happened on that drive?

ISU ran 7 and 1/2 minutes off the clock. Completely flipping field position, and essentially winning the game.

Ironic that our offense won it on a 4th quarter drive, when the pink shirts should have won it. Even more ironic is you and your ilk claiming a sense of superiority when only 2 weeks prior to the ISU Nebraska game, Missouri basically handed you the game, but that was due to your great defense. However, when ISU did it to you, it was due to an awful offense. Which is it?

9-7

Not really an overstatement, considering they left at least 28 points on the field - the 4 turnovers in the red zone.

of course it's an overstatement...

there is NO guarantee they would have scored a TD or even made a fg.

pure freekin conjucture based on husker arrogance.

IF, woulda, shoulda, coulda are all major parts of husker vocabulary after a setback.

been working with them for over thirty years.

they truly believe they DESERVED to win.

little things like isu defensive effort, the scoreboard and their own ineptitude take a backseat to entitlement.

after all THEY ARE NEBRASKA and we are still isu.

We were very fortunate to win that game, and there were some crazy turnovers that helped, but ISU still won, still made the plays, still kept fighting when it looked hopeless. Don't blame ISU, runs some ball security drills.

Were you working on this AWESOME BURN for a whole week or were you literally on suicide watch with your belt and shoelaces confiscated?

ISU did everything they needed to do to win, including forcing turnovers. In only one case did Nebraska literally give the ball to ISU and that was the Paul fumble. It is called giving credit where credit is due. Learn how to do it.

Also, if you want to play the "if Nebraska didn't do this..." game, remember IF ISU had the leading Big12 rusher and their starting QB, Nebraska would have had half as many possisions in which to turn the ball over. As becrisgreg said, the ISU offense put the game away against the kNU D in the 4th quarter. They even ran the ball and got first downs against future NFL draft picks on your Dline. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

hahahahahaha. I'm so glad that this ****** is still here and posting.

CJ, you're probably right. It probably does have something to do with a 1987 NU/CU game, or more properly that NU's offense sucks. Please keep posting so we can keep reminding you that Nebraska lost to ISU.

Tell us about all those Cornhusker National Championships, CJ. I loved hearing about them after the ISU/NU game because I care so much. I'm wondering when you all expect another one. By my calculations it will be never.
