Davis is a stud. Ejim is a stud and Georges is a stud. All 3 would start. Melvin rebounding out of the 3 position makes me drool.

I've been saying this since the season ended. Fred is the master at creating mismatches, and Ejim at the 3 is a HUGE mismatch. In order to play Ejim at the 3 much at all, we'll need a big to step up. Whether its Percy or Amardi taking a leap, or bringing in a stud like Davis.

The report of being in the top 4 for Davis has been debunked by the same Pitt website that the rumor started on. It appears to be not true. He visited NC State yesterday and that is the likely destination for him. I hope that I am wrong on that and he comes to ISU. At this time, there is nothing out there that indicates we are even in contention for him that can be verified. From what I can gather the odds of Davis coming to ISU are very small and far less than 25%. Again, I hope I am wrong.

Looking at Fred’s past lineups, It’s obvious that he likes smaller lineups with more shooting. Ejim at the 3 would raise some questions. Why would Fred take him out of that position when he is just starting to excel in it.

This is wrong.

Fred likes mismatches. Because of the pieces he's had, he's created those mismatches by going small. I don't believe for a second he wouldn't create mismatches by going big if he has the right pieces in place.

I like what Amardi can do and I've seen him play so I have something to base that off of. I can be a big time shot blocker. He is one of the most athletic players I have seen play in a long long time.

Great to hear, he's pretty much an unknown to most fans including myself. With that being said there is no comparison with Josh Davis when both have 1 year to contribute. You'd take Davis 100 out of 100 times if it was an option.

I would take both. The good thing is it doesn't have to be Davis or Amardi. If we were to get Davis I'm 99.9% Amardi wouldn't be the odd man out.

Shouldn't be too hard. It's not like I said he would average 15 and 10 or anything like that. Getting some blocks and running the floor and being an above the rim player isn't that much to live up to.

Not sure you and I saw the same game. Amardi is a raw talent that will have to really concentrate to keep from fouling out. I agree he is athletic, but he was probably the forth or fifth best player in the games I watched. I am hopeful but would trade him for Davis in a heartbeat. If he had two years I would probably change my mind.

Not as strong and not as good of a shooter but I think he is a better athlete. In the game I went to I would say he has better moves down low. He had a nice fade away on his post moves. I actually see their roles being pretty similar. That's not a bad thing either as Booker was the only threat to block shots this year in my opinion.

My concern with Ejim at the 3.
He hasn't played there is whole college career.
He doesn't have all that great of guard skills. (good enough to get by 4s. good enough to get by 3s?)
Can he guard the 3s out on the wing?
Having three guys who play out of the post sounds like the makings of a stagnant offense.

Fred will make the best decision obviously but at this moment I don't see this being it.

The only reason why he fouled out of so many games was because he played the front of the press and was matched up against guards a lot because of that.

This potential lineup by conference play makes me think happy thoughts.

I'd be okay with ISU only averaging 8 made threes a game rather than 10 with that lineup.

Ejim can play on the perimeter with a similar role to Babb as far as handling the ball. Dribble sparingly, pass it around the horn, and hit the open 3. He's developed the pump fake and first step pretty nicely. Imagine Ejim crashing the offensive glass from the perimeter. Some big dunks coming.

Of course, this is all hypothetical and with the players we have NOW, Ejim will have to play 4 more than 3. But he can play the 3. He has improved every year and I would expect that to continue.
