I wonder why? It seems like this would stabilize things and protect their interests better. Is there a threat that this might take them down the road too far where people will be after them about them being employees?

There's probably a part of that but I'm also guessing things like the viewership numbers being super high despite a really chalky tournament means they're fine with the chaos.

Yeah because the year is 1850 and he has no way to communicate with people when he is on vacation.

This is extremely relevant to what we're talking about with Jefferson. We should be thankful that unlike BU, some combination of Blum, TJ, and WWC donors were able to stave off the poach attempt. Baylor now significantly behind the 8-ball for next year's roster building

This is completely unfair. I’m literally at an NIL conference with corporations trying to raise more dollars to help Iowa State. Appreciate the reasonable folks on here, stuff like the above is what causes CW and I to lose our minds.
More information on what happens at a NIL conference would be interesting.

Wait, how are you not in Ames, but still posting on Cyclone Fanatic and communicating with people. I was lead to believe that if you are out of town you are cutoff from everything.
As it turns out. Blum has this amazing power. I know you are familiar with it. But for some posters on this site:

Its called a smart phone. Its similar to that flip phone you have in your pocket, except it allows you to hop on the internet and communicate real time world wide.

It's funny to me you label this current situation built on donations to 501c's as capitalism at its finest. I think many of us that supported paying the players expected their pay to come out of revenue like a normal capitalist system, not charity donations.
It's absolutely capitalism. There's a market for these athletes. The NCAA has been trying and continues to try to suppress it via their own policies, but to quote Jeff Goldblum, "Life...ahhh...finds a way."
Quality D1 athletes are a scarcity, and school fan bases are willing to pay big bucks for them. Regardless of the avenue that the money takes to get from A to B, the free market is absolutely playing out.

The market is definitely playing out, I'm not sure I'd call it a free market.

You should be back at the office, manning the phones and tending to business! ;)

Makes more sense when you figure "Marketing VPs" are strippers, "Companies" are drug dealers and "learning more about how NIL can help their businesses" is doing 120 MPH in a rented Lambo.
