ISU's release regarding Darien Williams' release

Does this mean that Williams can play next season? That is not fair. He comes here, gets a year of college paid for, gets a surgery paid for, leaves the team for no reason, and leaves them shorthanded in a critical position. He should have to sit a year like any other transfer.

Not sure if serious?

He was never at Iowa State. All he had done was sign his letter of intent.

Corrected. Came out that he likely interviewed for the GS job; that stuff gets around. He doesn't seem to be the guy who pulls in recruits, either. Based on that information, one could propose an argument that he'd rather deal with men and contracts than punk kids who commit to people and not programs.

I'm not saying the sky is falling, so cool all your hyper-sensitive horses

That was last season. And he didn't interview for that job.

Zero depth at the moment for next season, and not much in the pipe for 16-17 season and beyond. I'm actually a little nervous, but also know Fred will fix it (if he and Monte stick around after next year).

Next year we NEED to make a big ncaa tournament run, because after that we lose a lot of talent.

Can we take that sad Fred picture off the main page?

It's making me sad.

I'm beginning to think this year will be Fred's last.

Just a minute, let me get you a bigger shovel

The sky....its falling!!!!

This is hiccup up at most, and some of the comments in this thread are just plain comical. Get a grip and grow a pair...an quit being such drama queens.

Its going to be real shady if he ends up at St Johns. Did Fred put any restrictions on the release?

Losing Williams and hiring an assistant that is not a package deal with any potential major 15-16 contributor does not say "all in" for 15-16.

I agree.

It's a little scary.

If we reload with transfers I'll feel a lot better about Fred staying.

If we sign Nick and a couple of other HS kids we've never heard of, the end is near and TJ is preparing to take over.

How is that shady? He probably just likes Matt and wants to play under him. Happens a lot in college sports.

Now do I agree with that? No. You should commit to a program not a coach. But its his choice and I have no doubt we will be fine for next year.

How much coaching is Matt doing? Makes it seem like Matt is just the bag man for this deal.
