Maybe when I get an $800M budget I can make that happen. It’s not my job to pay the University to properly find travel for the students who sacrifice so much and promote the University.

They already do that. Contingencies do not include band trips.....duh. If u think they should so such, then please go to the State Assemblies and make that request. Are u serious? Lol.

Please remember this as stated above: universities do not have cash - they collect from students for fees and tuition, get state monies, and receive monies from the Foundation.

My god pick an argument and stick with it. If you actually know how budgets work you know your original argument was bad.

Regardless, didn’t realize properly funding the University’s marching band would be such a divisive issue. But I guess CF is gonna CF.

So you are unwilling to support them with a few bucks?

Do you give anything to the University? Where do you think that budget comes from. Fundraising, State and Federal Funding and Tuition and fees, which of thise buckets are you supporting?

So did you make a donation yet?

You seem like you kinda suck, just as a person in general.

Read the room dude. Cy Fans enjoy the game experience that the marching band provides.

It’s not divisive. It's really simple and you don't get it.

Typical CF thread. Once it gets past a few pages, most of the conversation is unrelated to the stated topic. I'm interested in updates on the bus incident, but not particularly interested in another band debate that has been rehashed in so many other threads.

Can we stick with updates on the bus incident in this thread? Probably not, but I can hope.

Two thoughts --

(1.) I went to two bowl games during my time in the marching band. We flew to Houston for the game against TCU at the Texans' stadium and drove to Tempe, Arizona to play Minnesota.

Boy that was a haul there and back...

I think that one was worse than Ames/Orlando. Driving to Oklahoma City for the Big 12 tournament when the conference had that terrible experiment of moving it out of Kansas City was bad, too.

That being said, it was fun. It was after Christmas/before New Year's when I wouldn't have been doing much of anything else worthwhile. One last chance to spend time with your friends before you have to say a collective "farewell" to one another and will never again assemble as an ensemble.

(2.) I'd be shocked if the bus didn't have a dashcam on it.

And I'm sure the police and insurance adjuster are going to be very curious to watch it.

The bus is currently listed as day to day.

All Band Members are home, safe and no major injuries. They got home about 2:30pm.

So the other bus leaving the scene does not reek of them possibly being responsible for the accident? If the Windstar bus could of avoiding hitting them pretty sure they'd want to hang around and make a statement on how they were not at fault
Perhaps the injuries came from a sudden stop and the collision was really minor so the Sr. Citizen those companies hire to drive was unaware.
