Note that along with announcing the kickoff time for games this week, the league announced that ISU @ Texas will be played Thanksgiving Friday rather than Saturday as previously scheduled.

Also note that there are already provisions in place for moving the Big 12 Championship game back a week to December 19 if necessary.

I think this means that our trip to Austin is getting moved off the LHN for the first time since the LHN existed.
I think so, but since ESPN produces the LHN, they could use some verbal gymnastics and say "ESPN Network" includes LHN if they want to put it back on there.

So much for the Big 12 getting a lot of National TV exposure.

OU on PPV, UT on LHN, 3 games on FS1, and Texas Tech on Big 12 Now ESPN+.

But then why move it to Black Friday? They clearly intend to put this game in front of more eyeballs, not less.
To drive viewership on LHN.

If I remember correctly, ESPN had to use one of its ABC Tier 1 picks when it put our game on the LHN two years ago.

I think this is a sign we are likely on the LHN again this year.

FS1 is pretty much national exposure. Most services offer it. Is nothing like fox sports regionals.

I would love to watch Iowa State football on Black Friday. Hell Ya!

Looks like Big12 teams did retain their rights to one game. Gotta imagine the Texas and OU networks were their own decision, not forced upon them.

UT and OU still have their tier 3 deals.

Everyone else in conference moved their tier 3 deals to Big 12 Now on ESPN +. This is ISU's first year on it.

I wouldn’t invest a lot on that week, when we’re playing non con. Isn’t the $EC playing all conference games? How about the ACC?

So If I cancel my tickets, I can watch every single game on TV?
Yep barring ESPN putting the Texas game on LHN. I haven't opted out yet myself but I'll call them tomorrow and we'll watch all the games on TV.

Going to wait till thurs to see how bad my seats will be.

The football program generated $67 million in ticket sales alone during the 2018 season. UT is regularly the No. 1 seller of T-shirts and memorabilia, and the department gets $15 million annually from ESPN for the Longhorn Network.

Still, UT cannot afford to stop playing football, something that appeared possible during the onset of a global pandemic. The Big 12 has voted to play a 10-game season in 2020, and UT opens the year against UTEP on Sept. 12. The school expects to have just 25% stadium capacity at Royal-Memorial Stadium, which normally holds just over 100,000.

Texa$ shouldn't have any problems with social distancing.....(can't find the eye roll emoji anymore. )

ISU/UT right now on paper is shaping up to be a great matchup and worthy of broadcast on the Mothership. Makes sense that they're doing it, especially with the void/unknown of the Big 10.

More interesting is the fact that Missouri State is even playing OU as the Valley has postponed their season to spring. If you look at their schedule, it shows three games. OU for the opener, 9/26 at Central Arkansas, and a Homecoming game on 10/17 against.....Central Arkansas again.

Make sense. Team gets to keep practicing, collects their big fat D1 game check to help prop up the program, and has a homecoming game to keep the tradition alive for students and alumni alike.
