Isn't this the same as Lucca Staiger's...

The NCAA will probably give him a 10 game suspension or something. This article didn't really go into depth of how long he played in this league. I believe that is why Lucca was given the whole season because of the length that he played in the league. The Texas player didn't play in as many games so his suspension was shorter. At least that was the NCAA's story.

This summer there was the possibility of a rule change floating around but I don't know when the NCAA will rule on it. If that passes McDermott should request Lucca's extra year given back to him.

Some facts guys...the NCAA is going to address this issue in August of 2010, but some programs, like Neb, are hoping the NCAA is more lenient this year if their intent is to change the rule next year.

Nebraska has a big guy, standingher or something like that, that is going to have to go through the same process.

Ok, since I'm harping on the facts, I'll add a link...

There was a player on some team last year (and i can't for the life of me remember which team now) but his circumstances were the EXACT same as Lucca's and he got something like a 3 game suspension by the NCAA. Total garbage. Anyone remember that? I may have to go look that up now.

Pretty sure that player only played a few games, where as Lucca played an entire season. I believe the rule states your suspension is based on how long you played, and the rule was applied consistently across both players
