Two teams would have to emerge as 1 loss teams. I’d struggle to think they’d leave a 1 loss Big12 team out as that would mean 12-0 through the regular season. So a 12-0 ISU vs an 11-1 ASU would get ISU in regardless. Not sure if the 11-1 team loses.

IF we can win this week, that sets up a real possibility of two undefeated, top 10 teams facing off in Ames on November 1st. That would be one hell of an environment.

Also, remember there are no auto byes for the conference winners. So in addition to winning the conference to get in doing it with authority is important to make sure you are seeded appropriately. Having a 6 seed would be much better than a 9 seed.

If ISU has playoff aspirations there are no games that aren't big.

The keys to this game stays the same every year, avoid turnovers, we make them and set them up for easy points, while they do not turn the ball over. Last season was the first TO for the squawks in a number of years. 2nd they will want to drag us down to their level, play ball control and grind it out. We should not get caught up in trying to beat them at their game. Air the ball out early and often, loved the first play yesterday, you want to stack the box, then we are throwing it over the top. They are starting an entire new LB group and lost the better players on the back end. Roll Becht out, get him to the side and work the sidelines and down the field. Do that the first half and then come back and run on them the 2nd. Pass to run the ball.
On defense crowd the LOS and force their new QB to beat us, hit him early and often if possible, do not allow them to lean on us and pound us with the run. Take their running game away and should win easily. Finally get points when we can get them, get ahead early and make them play catchup.

I don't think Mouse will go up top the first play like he has the last couple of times - Parker will be coaching them to expect it. I am going to predict a Townsend end around to capitalize on hawk adrenaline overpursuing the flow of the play.

Just look at his very poor foot work on that under thrown pass five yards shy of the end zone. He probably took 10 or 15 happy steps before he threw it. Can you imagine his footwork in front of a hostile crowd?

The CW pod with Jeff Woody this week was some great analysis on this game. Some deep football talk and breakdowns which I enjoy.
Woody is a damn rockstar, easy to see how/why he got the ESPN+ gig and would not be surprised to see him rise up the ranks fast.

Without a doubt he had a poor week, he seems like the type of kid that needs to be challenged and fear about losing playing time which Saban was a master at. I have read the new coach is allowing the players to get away with few rules. Players in the lobby and getting food delivered late nite last Friday at the hotel, more of a country club atmosphere that Saban would have never tolerated. One of the Alabama fans was stating that it reminded him of before Saban and he was worried they are going back to that. With Saban you toed the line or you were gone. Procter seems like the type that needs that push, to keep him focused and playing his best.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone try to justify their QB by calling them “qualified”. It’s like ya he sucks but he meet the minimum qualifications to get the job.

Just like his idiot son was "qualified" to run the offense...

ISU should keep using the mis-matches they have with the TEs

ISU might have been in 21 personnel, I suppose. ISU did have two RBs in the game on Sama's Wildcat TD.
