Good to know there’s cucking experts on CF. It’s really becoming a one stop shop.
I know Iowa has to be better then they showed in a game against a truly awful Albany team that finished 4-8 last year. A couple things that probably work to isu's advantage is that they pulled most of their starters with 10 minutes left in the third quarter. Also, Iowa has all new starters at LB this year , and they will be tested in covering the TEs that the cyclones are using.
The closer this game gets the worse I feel about it
I’m just afraid Iowa is going to man handle our D-line. I know Gronowski is better than whatever the hell that was against Albany. And if he can be at least serviceable Iowa could definitely beat us make no mistake.

You all are going to look stupid when ISU wins it going away. Team is at least 2 scores better than Iowa.
I’m feeling better each day. In the CW pod with Woody and Chad L, Chad said it best - “Iowa’s path to win is narrow and ISU’s is large.” I 100% agree.
Doesn’t mean we’ll win but I think there is just as good of a chance we win by 2 scores as we lose outright. Almost every matchup favors ISU except their OL vs our DL. And we can overcompensate with run support and dare their QB to actually make plays.
I don't disagree with really any of this. But that's the way basically every year lately...either team can win. But flip the script and say it's Iowa that has looked really strong, beat a decent team overseas then manhandled a good South Dakota team in a trap game while Iowa State didn't look good against a pretty bad Albany team and absolutely NO ONE would be saying Iowa State is scary or has a decent shot. Can we lose? Sure. I'm prepared for that. But I feel better with us winning by 10+ for the first time in 20 years than losing.
I am 10000% okay with that. Just struggling with having this kind of optimism
I'm ok with looking stupid too. I've seen so many of our fans make outlandish predictions, in years I felt we were a better team, only to have Iowa come in and beat us at home. Just hoping for a W. It's probably going to be a one score game.
Although some hints of homerism, I thought this podcast was pretty detailed, thoughtful analysis of the game- especially if you appreciate the X and Os.
Imo Iowa is being underestimated. They're not a juggernaut but a slow start in week 1 just doesn't mean much.
I was at a bar and their game was on and from what I saw they got settled in and were pretty solid after the 1st quarter.
This game is all turnovers and special teams. In the last two games played in Ames ISU has put up more yards than Iowa, but I do not believe Iowa has a turnover in Ames since 2013
That's just how this week feels every year. Then I'll wake up on Saturday, get a few drinks in me and be convinced we're going smash them.
