Interesting article from the 'Couch Burners'

I have a feeling BYU will rival our WV hate.
And what's crazy about the WV fans is that they were some of the most hospitable fans I've interacted with at an away game.

They baited squeaky clean scholar athlete of the year Melvin Ejim into double birds, they're already there as far as I'm concerned.

I've never seen a WVU game look as beautiful and fun to watch as either of our KU games this year. At times I'd call both of those games very fluid in spite of the intensity.

Last year, sure.

There have been a lot of games this year where it's very clear Thuggie Ball is not the end goal.

I don’t watch every WV game so I couldn’t say whether they ever have fluidity to them, but as someone who has watched every ISU game this year, those KU games have been the exception, not the norm, specifically in Big 12 play.

Nah, not everyone uses distasteful word choices like you. However, I can appreciate you so gracefully accepting your ignorance, but just a reminder, do better next time.
Just because the Great and Mighty internet warrior Jeff says something does not make it so. You are a ham-fisted authoritarian cyber-thug.

The only thing I will remember from our interchange is that you are a ridiculous, pompous ass who considers himself the arbiter of what may be said by others.

I will continue to use "Thuggins" and "Thuggie Ball" every chance I get knowing that it irks you, you sad little man. I won't be checking further for any of your responses, so feel free not to waste the bandwidth to create them.

Agreed. Thuggie Ball is not the end game.

EDIT: Obligatory dumb from G&MLJ (Great and Mighty Lord Jeff) duly noted and forgotten.

I watch them 2-3 times a year when ISU plays and an occasional additional game if it matters. 100% ugly foul ball every single game, never seen a single game where they played a fluid moving style.

It was the same thing when ISU was an up tempo 3 hoisting team as it is now that we are a tough defensive team. Our team changed dramatically and our games against them are still identical.

It's not just ISU either. There was a year I saw Texas go in there and get called for more fouls even though WVU was 10x more physical. Huggins bends officials to his will at home often times, I think it's that simple.

Huggins is a violent, aggressive criminal? No, he’s not. once again, poor choice of words, and unnecessary. It’s one that Hawk fans fancy
I find it rich that people get so bent about the term "thug" on here regularly calling it out, but I have never once seen the phrase "curb stomp" be called out. If you have been desensitized to that term, see American History X.

To be clear, I am not asking that it be censured, I am just pointing out that terms and phrases can be metaphorical without dragging the literal translation into the conversation. Is Huggins literally a criminal? Not as far as I know. However the style of play that people have referenced calling Thugginsball and the like is definitely violent and aggressive and I don't think anyone could argue otherwise with a straight face. And in the context of the rules of basketball it is indeed criminal.

Exactly. Furthermore, the generally accepted definition of "thug" encompasses more than just criminals. So it still fits even if the G&MLJ (Great and Mighty Lord Jeff) wants to be unneccessarily literal.

Huggy IS a violent and aggressive person. Go watch his practices and tell me he is not. Huggy coaches violence and aggression.

I clearly did not use this term as code or as a dog-whistle to gain the support of white supremacists. It is silly to have to discuss this in such depth, but here we are.

Nah, there are other ways to get your point across than trying to tie the word “thug” into it.

It’s really sad that you’re such a pathetic person you can’t accept a blind spot you have but I’m glad to know I’ll continue to live rent free in your head. Do better.

Even though you’re trying to compare apples to oranges here, I haven’t seen “curb stomped” used. I’m sure it has been used, but I haven’t seen it

If you haven't seen curb stomped used on this board you haven't been paying attention. It comes up in threads pretty regularly.

This year on CF it’s been used 5 times. Three of those times are between you and I. Curb stomped/killed etc. aren’t remotely the same as using the word “thug,” no matter the context. And I suppose if @CloneLawman wants to try and justify using that word - when he was so easy for him to simply say “aggressive and violent” - and is okay as being looked down upon as if he’s an Iowa fan, then more power to him

I agree, "curb stomped"/"killed" is much worse than "thug."

And LOL on the number of times that it has been used on CF this year. The year is like 6 weeks old.

Is “curb stomped/killed” used to talk about a certain group of people to label a different group of people, because the first group of people know they can’t say what they really mean to say?

I won’t, because there’s no room for that in society. But i appreciate you for finally agreeing with what I’ve been saying this whole time.
No you just aren't worth arguing any more. Nobody is going to be convinced but you just can't let it go. And you are lame enough to think just getting the last word means you are right.

Go ahead and enjoy the last word. You are in exclusive company because I don't often put people on the ignore list, but you are truly worthy.

Yet here you are, still arguing with me. I’m not going to be quiet when it comes to a racially charged word, when any other words could be used to get a point across, and I really couldn’t care less if you don’t agree with me or put me on your coveted ignore list.

I don’t “need the last word because I think I’m right,” and you’re right, no one is going to convince me any form of the word “thug” is acceptable to use, but I appreciate you trying to silence me on this topic, which is something I’m passionate about squashing. So you can take your ignorance and shove it.
