the final score. But, if a victory can leave you with indigestion, this one is it. The offense . . . crying out loud. Three turnovers in the red zone.

We appear to be lots more talented now than in CPR's first years. We just can't seem to get it all together and establish consistency. I yearn for the day when we've established a high level of consistency game-to-game and inconsistent performance is not to be feared every week.

Sure hope the offensive coaches this season haven't reached the ceiling with what this offense is capable of doing. Any of you have knowledgeable insight about this offense's future?

And, why isn't the running game more productive? Is it their guys (Tulsa and ui's 'D') or our guys? Is our O-line run blocking up to its talent level?

I agree. This was a game where our guys could have put the beat down on Iowa that we have all been hoping for to tilt the public perception to our favor a bit after those two beat downs we took from them in 2009 and 2010. It was very frustrating to see our offense stall in the red zone time and time again while they had a real chance to take total control and put Iowa out of it's misery. This shouldn't have been less than a two possession game throughout the second half.

Happy with the win, concerned about the remainder of the season if our offense can't put it in the end zone consistently against Iowa's weak defense.
 
Our running game vs. Tulsa was fine. Both Shontrelle and White averaged over 5 yds per carry. Yesterday, Iowa was just stacking against the run, and Steele couldn't connect on the deep bombs and stretch their D. If we connect on any one of those bombs, our running game would have been more successful. Also, Woody didn't play due to his injury, which took away another factor in our running game. And as for the run blocking, sometimes there were holes down the middle, yet our RB's took it outside, yet another advantage of having Woody
 
Yeah, our RB's did miss a couple big holes. It seems they weren't quite patient enough to let the play develop so they bounced outside, if only they cut back or waited another second or so, the hole's were huge. A couple times our OL parted the Red Sea, but the RB bounced outside. Oh well, it'll get fixed in film session.
 
Jantz played like the Jantz of old. Missed 3 or 4 deep balls that would have been huge gains, if not TDs. His last INT was TERRIBLE. Only thing that hurts in that situation is a TO, so what does he do? Attempts to thread the needle.
 
Looks a lot like last year with the defense being slightly better on push up front and a better secondary. On offense, the zone read needs to morph into a stretch the defense passing monstosity for us to go to the next step. Jantz has problems throwing deep.

Wasn't able to watch the game, and field-level highlights aren't as good as pressbox level video for diagnosing action. Right?

Who wudda guessed the backs were the "weak link" in the running game? Not me. But I'd much rather have the coaches chewing on the backs, correcting their errors, than rippping into the O-Line for poor performance.
 
I wasn't able to watch the game but listened to it... for those that saw the game, how was the play calling on offense? Did we try to force things that weren't there or were we trying different things and it just wasn't working?

And is the QB ever going to be under center?? It seems if we have a first and goal from the 3 that it would be a good time to be under center...
