Let's take a look back at this half-season:

Kent State: First game, I didn't expect for us to find a rythm yet, a loss isn't unexpected. I hoped for better though.

UNI: Second game, I thought the game would be close, but ISU will come away with a win. I was disappointed.

UI: Extremely impressed!

Toledo: Extremely disappointed! We were favored to win and we were up by 11 5 mins remaining in the game!

Nebraska: I expected a loss, was impressed that we never gave up!

Tech: I was okay with the turn out, I did expect a blow out win by Tech - but we did put some points on the board. So I am happy.

okay

I say we are doing as expected overall. We are 1-5 now, I expected 3-3 this far into the season. Am I happy with the record? I say I am okay with it. I am impressed that our win came over a team like Iowa who maybe struggling now but had every weapon to beat us on a game day. As for rest of the season, this is what I am expecting:

Texas: loss (although I think we may win this one and shock everyone)
Oklahoma: loss
Missouri: loss
Kansas State: win
Colorado: win
Kansas: win (I think the Kansas game will be a signature win for our seniors)

Will I be happy with a 0-6 record rest of the season. The answer is NO! I say, 2 more wins will make me happy.

So this season with a 3-9 record is a better record than last year's 4-8 IMO, remember we were 4 plays from being 0-12 last year. In fact, the win over Missouri is not a win for me.

Am I happy overall? I say I am okay with the result and hope that we win at least 2 more.

Probably 12 or 13:

What I thought was to be 4 wins based on early wins. No one was expecting miracles in the conference. From the stats, we cannot score and we give up too many points, our pass offense is poor, our run offense is average, our pass defense is good and our run defense is low to average, our punt returns are horrendous, pass defensive efficiency is terrible, first downs with short plays are a bright spot, sacks are okay, penalties is our strong suit, we are good on 4th down, red zone is low to average, third down is low to average, time of possession is great, fieldgoals is not good, and kickoff coverage is really bad.

WHAT THE ABOVE STATS SAY--- For Gene to win more games this year all he has to do with is team then is:

1. Improve on third down
2. Make your fieldgoals
3. Knock down some pass attempts with your arms up in the air
4. Have a real punt return team on the field
5. Actually kick off the ball to the ten and then tackle them inside the thirty
6. Run some better trick plays (my suggestion)

That will result in more wins......
