Husker Hatred

Lol husker fans never shut up. Who we kidding?
Nebraska is a coaching graveyard. LOL
I love to tell this story because it still blows my mind how out of touch they are over there.

Met a husker fan across the street from the Arena in Omaha after the Creighton game. Was about my age (late 30s, maybe early 40s) Nice enough guy, lives in Omaha. Well spoken, seemed intelligent enough and relatively successful in life. Conversation picked up nicely over hating on the hoks.

He turns to me with a straight face as says Ferentz would have been fired a long time ago if he was at Nebraska with his same record. Nothing but NC or bust, 10 wins will NEVER be good enough in Lincoln. They deserve titles, it's their God given right. And there's no excuse for not being in the natioanl title game every 2 or 3 years minimum. They will never settle for anything less.

For good measure, he even threw in there that with the new arena Hoiberg was on borrowed time and he should be fired in the next year or two if they aren't making Sweet 16s sooner rather than later.

I think about this conversation often, idk if there's a more delusional attitude you can possibly have given all that we've seen. They are a special kind of insufferable over there, even at their best.

It's been a good couple decades to hate the Huskers.

They fired Pelini for getting his ass kicked in big games, Rhule better figure it out quick.

Nebby has too many fans who still think it's 1995, similar to all the Tavern Hawks who think it is always October 1985.

That is my impression from the outside looking in anyway.

The biggest takeaway from the Nebraska Indiana game to me was not so much that Nebraska continues to struggle, because they have been for years, but holy crap the Indiana coach is just tearing it up in his first year. Their offense was amazing to watch. Their QB and WRs are legit. What a great story their coach is. But also, this guy is not going to be at Indiana long. There is going to be a ton of money thrown at him from someone this offseason.

I've softened on Nebraska since they cheered our victory over Iowa. Instead of rooting for a blimp crash in the Iowa - Nebraska game, I will root for Nebraska.
Nebraska is like the abusive ex who left you and immediately started dating someone else. You see them years later and feel better about the place you're in now. The grudge is essentially gone.

As a younger fan I really could care less about Nebraskas performance. Same with Missouri unless we play them. However I hate OU and Texas

I agree, I was equally impressed with their defense too. Been a long time since I've said thank God we don't play Indiana this year.

Remember when Army was a national football power? Of course not. Well, Nebraska is almost to that point.

Might have to go back to the Randle El days and they were even bad then.

I was also recently reminiscing about the Antwaan Randle El days.

Man they had that guy doing all sorts of ****, I forgot about all this. In 2001 he:
- Attempted 231 passes
- Carried the ball 188 times
- Caught four passes
- Punted eight times
- Returned 16 punts

He had a descent pro career as a receiver, played nine years and scored 21 total TDs.

Not really. All those Uncle Rico’s will tell you about it every time they get a chance.

That was absolutely glorious watching Nebby get curb stomped by Indiana. Here's hoping Ohio State drops another 50 burger on them.
