How I Met Your Mother

A lot of the last two seasons has been like pulling teeth for me. But, that's mostly because I hate Robin and Barney together. The only solace I find is that, assuming they stay true to the flash forwards in the beginning of the series, we know Robin and Barney don't go through with the marriage and split up.

Also, I personally like the mother. But I think I'm also partial to her because I loved her appearance she made in 30 Rock, so I tended to like her from before.

Just waiting for the show to be over. I want to see how it turns out, but there have been so many absolutely silly episodes these past two years, they need to wrap it up soon. Worse than Slapsgiving III was the episode where Marshall spoke in verse to keep the kid asleep. I turned it off.

Slapsgiving and the rhyming episode were terrible. I am along with you guys, suffering thru each episode until the end. This past week was a nice change and had some good stuff in it, but I really would prefer to not have the Marshal and Lilly drama and get more of Ted and the kids mom since (are they married? plot twist?) I have invested 8.5 seasons of time into the show for that one purpose.

The last episode was pretty good and seemed more like a typical HIMYM episode. I told my wife the Slapsgiving 3 episode was the worst of the entire series, it seems they are wasting time with filler when they could be finally "meeting the mother". I still enjoy the show but the last couple of seasons have been pretty poor compared to the first handful of seasons.

I think next weeks episode should be an interesting one. It is supposed to be from the perspective of The Mother

In the 200th episode of the series, The Mother recounts how she met Ted, as well as some other memorable events that occurred in her life during the previous eight years.

I have to imagine from here on out there shouldn't be anymore stupid filler episodes, but I'm probably wrong

How many more episodes are left? Like a lot of others in this thread it really feels like they took 3-4 episodes and stretched them into 2 seasons, particularly the Marshall Road Trip episodes. But I've made it this far so I have to see the end.

The last two seasons have been brutal. Too much drama and not enough comedy and then when they try to get back to the comedy, it seems forced. I'm really not sure why I still watch but I guess if I have stuck with it this far I might as well hang around.

I'm with all of you... they need to wrap it up. I watch because I want to see the end... not because I like it anymore. The show has run it's course. How many episodes are left?

I'm with you guys, the last few seasons has been pretty crummy either by rehashing old story lines/jokes or being too over the top.

9 episodes left according to Wikipedia. 2 episodes of those 9 are the Finale.

The whole premise of the show boxed them in. It was as if they started it with no idea how it was going to end and then when the time came they had to just slap it together. Agree, the last couple years have been brutal but can't stop watching now.

I would assume that when they started the series, they did not think that they would have 9 years. This would have been much easier if they would have ended in like year 6 or 7. But the show was too hot then for the network to let it go away.

I will say, it does seem that HIMYM is the new Saved By the Bell. It is on HOURS a day on different networks

They just made looking for her take too long. The search got old, and at time forgotten about.

I actually liked the Rhyming and the Slapsgiving 3 episode. So much of it reminds me of how HIMYM used to be. I knew they wouldn't be able to just create an entire season of a 24 style story arc involving Barney and Robin's wedding... and I'll be honest, this season's arc has started to bore me just a little bit. It's nice to have these "odd" episodes sprinkled in.

This show has some of the funniest moments I've seen in a TV show. But I'm ready for it to end; they've drug this season on entirely too long

I only made it though half of the first episode of this season before I said "I'm done." I'm curious to see how it ends, but will rely on reading recaps after the fact. Bro references and similar things they overdid just became too brutal to watch.

We first learned about this wedding (we didn't know who the bride and groom were at the time) on the first episode of season 6. We're talking 2010.
