Hollywood, stop ruining the classics!

Holy sh*t dude. Seems awfully steep. We go to Fleur Cinema and pretty much only Fleur Cinema unless we have to go to JC, and it's nowhere near that. Granted we're not taking young kids, but yowza.
Yeah man, damn kids always want to spend a fortune at the snack bar. I think next time I'll go to the dollar store and let them get snacks and drinks to sneak into the theater. That'll save me a good 40 bucks.

Ugh, another remake of a great movie, with two annoying actors.

I really hope Josh Gad is in this

I saw the Naked Gun reboot streaming and was actually pretty shocked how good it is. I can’t imagine bringing it back much better than that.

Probably the exception more than the rule resurrecting a 20-40 year old comedy.

I think people have such high standards for what makes a movie great that most of the time they never go in with an open mind or try to enjoy it is for what it is.

This is absolutely a thing. It annoys the crap out of me. It’s like nothing can be good enough or they hyper focus on maybe one thing that doesn’t work in a movie that’s pretty good.

Sometimes I think about what a great movie like A Few Good Men would do now. I think people would make fun of the ending like crazy.

Also regular price tickets for the theater near me are 16 or 18 dollars and a large popcorn is 11.00. As a general rule we spend about 100.00 when we go there. Thats an absurd amount.

I understand I don't have to watch the remakes but the problem is that if you take out the remakes of things there is nothing else to watch. Disney is just spewing out live action remakes of animated movies or more sequels. I just keep watching the older things and not watching new things. Maybe one day Hollywood will realize nobody is watching anymore and change, but doubt it. Not going to pay outrageous movie prices to watch garbage. The last movie I went to in the theater was Top Gun Maverick and not a single thing I would want to see outside of the new Mission Impossible which I just watched last night and really liked it. That seems to be the exception to the sequel rule but it seems like it is the last one (but probably not).

I don't mind sequels. Remakes of a good 80's movie are kind of pointless. The original is not that old. The one thing that I do like is when they remake a movie that had a good premis and make it great. Like the orignal movie failed but the idea was really good.

I agree in some aspects. I like a remake that goes back to the original source like a novel and reimagines the movie rather than just recreating the movie. For example, Dune was amazing, but it was another attempt at the novel with today’s special effects rather than just an update the previous movies.

There are all sorts of Sci Fi movies from the 50's that could be remade with real special effects that could probably be good.

80s movies are basically 40 years old.

40 years before Top Gun was the year It’s a Wonderful Life came out.
