Hoiberg to Huskers

Would also rather Hoiberg at Bama. I don't want competence in Lincoln.

I'm over what it means in regards to Fred and ISU. I don't think he'd hesitate to coach in Iowa City or Lawrence if the money were right. I just don't want a historically terrible program 3 hours away getting decent.

I thought Nebraska would have announced Miles' firing by now. Maybe something has gone awry in their hiring of Freddy?

I have avoided this thread since about page one or so. I would say that Fred is probably having his agent play Nebraska to get a better deal out of someone else. My BIL who has decent connections to twin cities sports, keeps talking about Hoiberg and the Twolves still chatting about head coach. Remember when fred went to the bulls, he talked to about 3-4 other teams and seemed to be able to drive up his price for the bulls. Probably what is happening with Nebraska.

If you simply want to look at connections, Fred had far more connections to Ames, IA than to Lincoln, NE. I think the main allure is cash money, bro. Don't get me wrong, I wish Fred well (so long as he mostly doesn't poach our recruits), but the business about where he was born and where his grandpa coached is naught but a dog and pony show.

Quite the circle of life on that list:
Andy Kennedy coached at an SEC school, Cincinnati, and played at UAB.
Mick Cronin played at and currently coaches at Cincinnati. Coached at Murray State before Prohm, and was an assistant at Louisville for Pitino.
Rick Pitino obviously coached at an SEC school and Louisville.
Mike Davis played at Alabama and coached at UAB.
Fred Hoiberg played at coached at ISU, played against one of Rick Pitino's NBA teams. Last game coached against UAB at ISU.

Can't come up with a Gregg connection yet.

Marshall's wife's cousin's daughter partied in Tuscaloosa once.

All signs are pointing to a UAB link in the new hire.
