Higher NBA Draft Pick Royce or HB?

People can talk all they want about bad shooting and iffy free throw shooting but Royce has it all over Harrison with handles. Harrison trending somewhere around substandard/adequate at best, Royce aces.

At this moment, Royce will be the better pro.

At this moment we really don't know. I love Royce, but if I were picking I would still take HB. He is a threat to score anywhere on the floor. Without the great shooters that we had spreading things out, then I just don't see Royce scoring at all. He is not a good shooter at this point.

Harrison will be top 10. Royce will be somewhere between 10-20.

And I think Royce is a bigger risk for a bust than Harrison is and it isn't even remotely close.

Maybe Harrison will be the new MJ but if I made a real high pick of him in a loaded draft I'd be sweating bullets.

I would too. He shows flashes of tremendous potential, but his disappearing acts make you wonder about his drive. When Royce isn't scoring, he's passing, so no matter what the defense does, he's helping the team. You just don't know what you're going to get out of HB.

As an NBA junky, have to strongly disagree.

Royce legitimately may have a higher ceiling and more gifts, which is crazy considering Barnes was the consensus #1 talent out of high school, but Royce won't get major minutes per game until he can knock down an open shot. These NBA teams all have a shot blocker in the middle who would be dominant by Big 12 standards and every team will double team off of Royce until he proves to the scouting that he can knock down a shot.

Right. Because he won't be surrounded with shooters in the NBA that are as good as our shooters here at ISU. :skeptical:

It doesn't matter how many shooters he has around him. Royce's current game is an invitation to double team off of him at the next level. Every team has players this board has never heard of with shot blocking presence clogging the lane. Teams will look at Royce's game, double team off of him, and take their chances with him consistently dunking on a 7 foot center who would school Jeff Withey that Cyclone Fanatic has never heard of.

It's not like Royce can't do it, but he does need to show he can do it. Hit an open 10-15 footer consistently, and this is a different conversation.

If he can do that, he has such unique rebounding, ball handling, explosion and passing skills that I really don't think it'll matter that he's a little short for his usual matchups on the floor.

Royce will be a 3.
He seems natural in his feel for the game. Harrison looks really stiff in his movements and for being a "shooter" sure shoots badly, a lot.

So, Royce is going to go from being doubled in college to left unguarded in the bigs.
I want to see that because he'll make you pay.
