Shayok has the points but doesn't have some of the other stats. And he wasn't on preseason lists. Not a big deal anyway. We all know who is going to win it.

If Monte Morris didn't get the Cousy award after just continuing his senior year what he did pretty much his entire career only better than there's not a chance that a guy like Shayok is going to be on this kind of award list.

I'd say maybe if he were breaking NCAA records since he was a freshman, but see my first paragraph.

Man, I'm still pretty pissed about that, haha.

So one game

Right but that's my explanation as to why the pollsters love them more than normal. Tennessee is 1, Duke is 2 and UNC I think is overrated but thats just me. I think Gonzaga is legit but probably not as great as the AP thinks they are.

I don't see how the committee can reward Gonzaga with a 1 seed this year with that schedule. I would be curious to see what their Quad 1 and Quad 2 wins look like.

It is important to point out that when a team like Gonzaga is seeded lower even though every metric says they are a Top 5 team, it doesn't punish them as much as it punishes the teams they are playing in the tournament.

Shayok isn't flashy. He just comes to work, kicks ass, and leaves.

I'm okay with this, but that's not a recipe for awards. I bet he's not on that many ESPN Top plays.

He also missed the part where he made several layups and dunks, only turned it over 2 times compared to 5 assists, had 16 points 8 rebounds, and made all 4 free throws.

If getting open to get the ball and get fouled because you're the guy OU doesn't want the ball to go to was a stat, MS was very efficient last night.

ESPN reserves their top 10s for Zion Williamson and.... that's it.

Our 6 wins is the lowest of anyone in the Top 20. I wouldn't have guessed that.

I'm guessing that this looks dramatically different in rankings other than NET?

2 things simply don't make sense to me right now.
1. How is Shayok not in the top 20 for the wooden award? He is the leading scorer in the B12 which is projecting 7-8/10 teams in the NCAA tournament right now. Every game is a grind and he keeps proving it every week.
2. Why is Gonzaga ranked so high despite not earning anything? What have they done besides beating a bunch of unranked teams? It makes no sense.

1. Selection committee probably checked out CF and saw calls for Shayok to be benched the last two games.
2. They beat one good team in Maui. I can't remember who exactly, but I'm thinking it was the 95-96 Chicago Bulls.

He was dumbfoundingly good shooting the ball down the stretch last night. Incredible treys there at the close. POY candidate for sure.

POY but he wasn't even in your top 5? I guess I didnt realize an all conference 2nd teamer could win POY.

I'm not entirely sure how the quadrants in NET are defined, but in the way KenPom defines A-tier and B-tier games, Gonzaga is 5-2 in A-tier games and 4-0 in B-tier games, so it's pretty similar to the NET quadrants.

Iowa State is A: 4-3 and B: 3-2 for comparison.
