2 things simply don't make sense to me right now.
1. How is Shayok not in the top 20 for the wooden award? He is the leading scorer in the B12 which is projecting 7-8/10 teams in the NCAA tournament right now. Every game is a grind and he keeps proving it every week.
2. Why is Gonzaga ranked so high despite not earning anything? What have they done besides beating a bunch of unranked teams? It makes no sense.

(1.) Lawson is actually slightly ahead now.

19.5 PPG = Lawson
19.1 PPG = Shayok

Kansas would be so blah without Lawson.

I agree with your general point, though. Shayok feels like somebody who should be considered one of the 20 or so best players in college basketball right now.

(2.) KenPom has them #3. So does Barttovik. BPI has them #3.

They played well in their few tests and have been killing inferior teams. That is what they should be doing as a very good mid-major team, like they always do.

I don't see how the committee can reward Gonzaga with a 1 seed this year with that schedule. I would be curious to see what their Quad 1 and Quad 2 wins look like.

Not good. But if you look at some of the other teams in the top 10 as well, Tennessee actually being one, they don't have many Q1 wins to this point.

Step 1: Be ranked high in the preseason
Step 2: Destroy all of the crappy teams you play in your terrible conference
Step 3: Lose in the Sweet 16
I thought we were talking about Gonzaga, not Wichita State?

Oh wait, could be either of them actually.

Shayok has the points but doesn't have some of the other stats. And he wasn't on preseason lists. Not a big deal anyway. We all know who is going to win it.
He was a cold-blooded assassin in the last 5 minutes of the game with some phenomenal court vision to boot. His 3 point shots at the end were ridiculously difficult, yet critical to the game result.

Washington and Creighton are both Quadrant 1 wins for Gonzaga, Arizona could end up being another one. Their schedule isnt as bad as it looks. St Mary's and San Francisco are 6 potential Quadrant 1 wins in their conference also.

Ok, How are St Mary's and San Francisco close to Quadrant 1?

It seems that strength of schedule is actually not that big of deal in the NET rankings. To me it looks like road wins carry a lot of weight.
