HBO's Silicon Valley

the scene last night where they were all stating their name out loud when that other Pied Piper guy came to the house was hysterical.

It's OK. Too much sausage. Doubt it would make it without huge GOT lead in.

Hmm, so you mean too much sausage just like the real Silicon Valley then? Damn them for making a show about the reality of things! And I bet it would make it without GoT. It's right before another great show in Veep and HBO doesn't pull the plug on shows unless it's not doing well at all. Veep and Silicon Valley already got greenlit for more seasons today.

Last night's episode was hilarious.

Reminds me a lot of internet discussion:

Gilfoyle: "He's trying to turn us into corporate rock, Richard. We are punk rock."

Dinesh: "Actually, I think a better analogy would be jazz. Like we riff and improvise around a central theme to create one cohesive piece of music. Don't you think that works better?"

Gilfoyle: "No, they teach ******* jazz at Juleyard. We're not jazz. We're ******* punk rock."

Jared: "You see? You guys are arguing over what metaphor to use to agree with eachother. This is the inefficiency I'm talking about. My suggestions could actually help you beat me in this argument. Do you see the irony here?"

Gilfoyle: <Sticks tongue out and makes fart noise>

Jared: "I...I can't argue with this."

Just got a chance to watch last Sunday's episode. I about did a spit take at the Ehrlich vs the underage Adderall dealer scene.

Yea, highly realistic.

- Dropping shrooms, wiping yourself with feces, kidnapping a child.
- Spray painted anal sex mural.
- Getting trapped in driverless car and shipped to the international date line.
- Ridiculous Satanists.

Nailed it. Silicon Valley startup.

I liked it. Not sure how long they can keep it going unless it pivots into a standard office comedy. I think they got at least one more good season left.

The whole JO calculations scene was hysterical. I also enjoyed Jared's mental breakdown very much. He played that perfectly.

Great season finale. I had just watched GoT and to go from that ending to the **** calculations scene was the biggest 180 degree turn ever. I was rolling.

TJ Miller is in everything right now, I don't know how he's juggling all of it. The guy who plays Dinesh, Kumail Nanjiani, is also staying pretty busy - I think I just saw that he's got a Comedy Central show or special starting? Martin Starr stays pretty busy doing smaller parts, too. I'm curious if they can sustain the show when everyone's careers seem to be doing pretty well.

this and this. Will probably watch Episode 2 tonight. Enjoyed the first episode a lot. T.J. Miller is the ticket for me. I think people either like him or hate him. I think he's hilarious. His line delivery is just so unique. He's just a funny guy.

I've only seen a few minutes of the show, but I agree that T.J. Miller completely makes it; he's perfect for the role. I saw him at the Funny Bone in DSM a few years back and it was probably the best stand-up act I've seen, even though he ended up cutting it short because he was completely wasted.
