Hawkeye Trolls

OP - don't let the hawk comments about JP get to you, it's a good think when rival fans don't like your AD.

To be fair, there are many fans who don't care about Director's Cup since many aren't popular. The problem is that many of these fans are inconsistent with the sports to follow. I would buy it if they just stuck to football and/or MBB, however many will cherry pick other Olympic sports "that no one cares about" to boast about their school.

So in Iowa's case, I have no problem when they stick to football and/or MBB, however I found over the years they'll conveniently drop MBB (when they suck) or add WBB or wrestling or another Olympic sport, then state, "No one cares about Olympic sports" for the Director's Cup.

In my case, I like Director's Cup as I'm an alumn and support my school. Also, it adds fire to those who talk about ISU's athletics as garbage, solely based on our football or typical discounting ISU.

If you really want to make Iowa look bad, pull up each of their sport team's finish in the Big 10 last year. Across the conference, they're the worst athletic department.

I've had the wrestling response when I claim supremacy for winning football and basketball. My response is always that our WBB has higher attendance than our wrestling team.

So did you hate being a Cyclone fan 4 years ago?

Didn't every ISU fan hate being an ISU fan during the McDoormat induced nuclear winter for the Cyclone Basketball program?

I couldn't even stomach watching the games back then so it's hard to imagine what being an Iowa Basketball fan would have been like for the past decade or more. When was the last time they won an NCAA Tournament game? When was the last time they actually played in a "real" NCAA Tournament game?

Iowa fans don't acknowledge they have an Athletic Department, just a Football Department that subsidizes the all-important Wrestling Department. They have finished dead last the last couple for years in the Big Ten in athletics while getting crushed by schools like Minnesota that they love to mock.

Good news for 2014-15 is that with Maryland and Rutgers added Iowa will not finish 10th and last in the Big Ten, they will move "up" to 11th and next to last ahead of the mighty powerhouse Rutgers.

Maybe they shouldn't be supporting 22 sports? I mean the Gophers can do it with 23 and Nebraska can field 22 but maybe it's not for Iowa. Maybe cut back to 16 teams like ISU? Does anyone even know that there is a Hawkeye men's gymnastic team or a women's rowing team? It looks like there fans don't care about Olympic sports so why carry so many above the NCAA Div 1 minimums?

:skeptical:

So Iowa has the worst Athletic Department in terms of on field/court success in their conference (and worse than us) but they are better because they make more money?

In my mind no, but this is a yes to most.

For all the Hawkeye Trolls out there.

You may want to have a look at this:

38 versus 78.

Just amazing how many Hawkeyes I have seen on boards, comment sections, etc. completely bashing Pollard and ISU regarding JP's comments. Shouldn't be surprised I guess.

I think that Iowa should be audited and investigated. Thehy spend 100M + on sports and have absolutely nothing to show for it. Something is fishy in IC. I am dead serious with them getting investigated.

Short hand made sense when you had to sometimes push the same button 3 times to type a single letter. With full keyboards and autofill on your phone it is just lazy not to.

Exactly. At this point its lazy and, to me, somewhat disrespectful. For as much as I hate it in text messages, it doesn't hold a candle to my baby punching, kitten punting rage that is when some does it via email.
