Hawkeye Trolls

This thread is amazing. There is no point in getting upset with the hawk trolls when you can read their posts and just laugh. They are pure gold! We all go to work (or school for the current students) and deal with stupid people but the level of stupidity from these hawk trolls raises the bar to heights you seldom will ever see.

I must say Love it or Leave it was my personal favorite. The way he eloquently put together his "I'm better then you" rant was superb. It had just the right amount of narcissism, stupidity, and that little extra splash of insanity that put the cherry on top. He woke up that morning, took a long hard look in the mirror and said "Not today logic... not today". With that kind of determination there was no way that logic stood a chance against him. It's inspiring when you really think about it. It takes a man with an iron will and a grad school degree from the university of iowa to go where no logical person dares to go. Yes, this crusader has challenged and defeated CycloneFanatic.

I tip my cap to you Love it or Leave it... your candle has burned out long before your legend ever will. Thank you.

Hawk fan on soundoff wants to give ferentz a raise to 10 million.
Different hawk fan thinks they should be ranked.
Different hawk fan thinks Iowa is lucky to have 2 brilliant qb's.

You can't be a fan of both. The fanbases, the culture, tradition, etc are as different as night and day. It is easy to be an Iowa fan, as much of the state are Iowa fans. Not so much for ISU fans, as we've had to fight back against the majority of the state. We're hardened and battle tested. ISU fans are not born, they're made.
My grandparents have lived in/around Iowa City for about 45 years (they live in Hills now, which is like 8 miles away) and they're all about the STATE of Iowa. Yes, they tend to lean towards UI, but unless it's a CyHawk game, they're also cheering on the Clones.

In my opinion, a greater percentage of Cyclone fans are "hardcore" and follow sports more closely than that of the Hawkeyes. There seem to be a ton of casual Hawk fans. Nothing wrong with that, it's just that it probably contributes to some stereotypes about each fan base. The idea that the CyHawk game is our super bowl is brought on in part because our fans seem to care more about each game. Look at the stands every saturday. We can be 1-4 and playing a MAC team and almost sell out. Iowa had to do promotional giveaways, which turned out to be a bad idea, to attract students to their games. It's just a different situation in Iowa City than in Ames.

I guess my point is that there is some truth to the "little brother" nickname. Traditionally we have usually had smaller enrollment, less success in sports, and a smaller fan base. Unfortunately for big brother, sometimes little brother grows up and kicks big brother's ***.

Agree. We are definitely a more passionate fan base than Iowa, as we stick with our team through thick and thin. For me, the absolute worst is fans converting from Clone fans to Hok fans. My wife's friend, who graduated from ISU, dated some ****** Iowa fan and became a Hok fan. How can you even do that?! She even goes and tailgates at the Hok games. Bothers me to this day how someone could do that.

If in some alternate universe the crown jewel of tOSU’s recruiting class visited ISU I think you’d be intrigued.

I think the fact that he was quoted in a newspaper interview that he was going to iowa ****** to visit his brother kind of makes your point worthless like the rest of your existence
