Hate for lolo?

Where did I say that Lolo didnt earn a spot? I don't blame Lolo for doing what she has done to get paid.

I also dont begrudge the others who actually accomplished something on the biggest stage being ****** they have been over shadowed.

Kellie Wells story makes it hard to root against her when you see how much she had to overcome to reach this level and not many people out there know it because she doesnt plaster it all over the internet.

Congrats to both Harper and Wells, but perhaps if they do want an equal amount or even more publicity than Lolo maybe they should both be more forthcoming about their own personal histories the way Lolo has?

All three of them have very compelling personal histories and stories. To me, it's remarkably silly for the other two to complain and whine about not getting more publicity when it seems likely they could get that publicity by being as open as Lolo has.

Even if Lolo is the worst teammate ever - which may be the case, who knows - they are only succeeding in sullying their own reputations. Get a grip and act like Olympic Champions not junior high school girls.

I've worked with a number of kids at the middle school/junior high age group, and I can pronounce with great confidence that the most vicious, savage, evil animal found in nature is the average 7th grade girl. I've been witness to some purely frightening displays of emotional brutality from that age group and gender.

So these ladies are ****** they aren't getting attention for something they don't want attention for? Is that the basic idea?

I love Lolo too. I see she's been on some online dating sites. I am currently in the process of guessing which one shes on and hoping she pops up someday.

Agree, and NBC has shown they are more than willing to take any dramatic angle to build a story.......

....especially if it's a gymnast, or a swimmer:wideeyed:

I'm assuming that by "be more forthcoming" you mean "pose naked for a magazine"

Nope, do you remember what they say about assuming?

Well then "U" and "Ming" ought to be offended.

Seriously though, how can the nudity not be part of it? Her sexuality has as much to do with her notoriety as anything else. And while she can't help that she's attractive, the fact that she posed nude is an indicator that she's not just looking to get by on her athletic ability. And that's fine. It's just good marketing.

But, going that route has its drawbacks, one of which is that some people will lose respect for you for doing it.

Ok, not to sound like a 70 year old, racist, white guy, but is Lolo part black? She's got some ethnicity in her from what I can tell.

Have people lost respect for the other athletes that have done the ESPN Mag "Body" issue? Because as far as I can tell, that's the only time Lolo has actually posed nude. Some people are making it sound like she did a full spread in Hustler.

Okay, fair enough, but I think this "nudity" thing with ESPN's Body magazine is really just overblown hyperbole IMO. For crying out loud, I see just as much skin, if not more, in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. And, if ESPN gave her five figures to do so, she would have been a fool not to pose, considering running hurdles isn't quite as lucrative as playing QB. As another poster stated, it's not like she was Playboy's centerfold or anything.

THIS. I don't have a link for this, but I think Mother Teresa or Jesus or the Pope or somebody posed in one of the early issues.

New reason to hate Lolo Jones.

She's reportedly dating Ndamukong Suh....eww.
