I think the football game is a bigger shot to make an impression. 40,000 people cheering for him. I think replacing "Cyclone Power" with Harrison Barnes" would be incredible. Maybe they can do that at the basketball games.
Somehow they need to let the students know what's going on. Because the team has sucked for a couple years (no one currently in school has seen winning bball at hilton), the students HAVE become apathetic.

I've been a die hard ISU fan my whole life and I must say that most Iowa State fans **** me off. Don't get your hopes up that the student section will do anything. I hope they do though. ISU has the most "G" rated lazy fans I have ever seen for the majority. This hurts to say being a big fan myself but it's the truth. I don't know how many football games I have been to where some grumpy fan with a kansas city cheifs jersey on tells me to sit down on 3rd and short while we are playing defense. I will be in Hilton friday yelling Harrison's name. Hope to see you rowdy fans at the ball game.

-How about an official sticky post about chant/cheer/event organization? All the other Harrison Barnes threads get muddled with people saying whether or not he is coming, this and that...really boring. TIME TO USE THAT CYCLONEFANATIC FRONTPAGE!!!

-Students on Campus

I just glanced at a Duke forum, the rumor there was he is going to KU or NC. But most believe they have landed him. Not one mention of us, anywhere.

I didn't/don't have time to read this entire thread so I apologize if this has been mentioned. How about lighting up RCA with HB in the windows like has been done with other stuff? I know, it may not be a new idea but it can't hurt. It will be dark when the FB game gets over. Oh, and obviously on Friday before and after the BB game.

How about body painting letters to spell out H A R R I S O N B A R N E S on students. Throw in a few extra letters on people's backs in order to spell out different words as needed.
Figure out some anagrams using those letters. Stand in different orders, facing front or back at times to spell out different things...but mix in HARRISON BARNES as often as possible - to keep the "authorities" confused.

When Fred Hoiberg visited Arizona-their fans gave him a petition signed by a LOT of people telling him they wanted him to be a Wildcat...something like "Stay Home Harrison!" signed by 1,000-3,000 would look pretty nice.
Whats more rocking than saying Harrison Barnes for 1 hour straight during game... Jus the thought of that gives m goosebumps. Hilton is already loud IMAGINE HARRISON BARNES being yelled for the whole game. Thats would be something and most of all....it would make the national sports news...JUST like the CPR locker room...I will stake my money on that

This. One player of this caliber, and to have this staff sell him on their ability to mold him for the next level is bigger than anyone probably realizes.
Think of what signing Harrison to Iowa State says to everyone else. We have a strong guard class coming up with Paige, Staten (who could change his mind any minute), and Randle
HB saying yes, then having that great freshman year, would send out a loud calling to top players. Iowa State is a destination for you. This staff can prepare you for the next level.
When you look at the caliber of recruiter that Danyal is, and you give him this ammo, who knows what he can do. TJ as well.
If I recall....Fred Hoiberg said he got a card that stated "10,000 fans who want Fred Hoiberg to go to Iowa State." He said he recognized almost all the people who signed. He said it made a big impression on him at the time.

If I had to guess, the rumor that he's going to KU or UNC just means they don't think he's going to Duke. Fans of those schools have never taken ISU's chances seriously, and there's never been much buzz about him going to Oklahoma or UCLA, so naturally in a Duke fan's mind Harrison is going to KU or UNC if he doesn't go to Duke.
The way everything is set up makes me optimistic. He's been on his official visits and he's been to ISU enough that he either has made his decision or is close enough to a decision that he set a commitment date. With that in mind, two things stand out:
1. Harrison is taking an unofficial visit to ISU and attending a basketball game. There would be no need to take this visit if ISU was out of the picture. Again, he has set a commitment date, so he either knows where he's going or is still deciding but close to a decision. Either ISU is already his choice or ISU still has a shot.
2. According to posters on here, Harrison is also attending the football game this weekend. You could argue that Harrison didn't cancel the unofficial visit to the basketball game because it was already scheduled and he didn't feel it would be right, but why also attend the football game if he's leaning somewhere else or ISU is out of the picture? I have a hard time believing he's eliminated ISU and this is just some kind of farewell tour for him.
