Eliminate the half dozen gifts we gave them in that regard and we cruise in this game.

Yes, that's very frustrating to watch.

Also, we don't have a single post player who plays good help defense when a guard gets beat and their man is driving to the hoop. It's an automatic layup or at least a trip to the FT line. The Mizzou game(s) will be brutal.

Still a good win tonight, we're improving.

Beats disappearing for 2 halves like he has done in the past.

The 2nd half officiating made it tough for anyone to get in a flow.

The Rick Perry clone had it in for ISU. Ref Santorum wasn't a lot better.

Just my luck, I can't watch a replay on ESPN 3, after being able to see several so-so/bad games in some form. Oh well. (Yeah, so it's been my fault all this time...)

Winning the opener is much better than losing it, that's for sure.

We'll see if this jump-starts an upswing, or becomes an isolated incident.

Winning at A&M would be a nice capper for opening week. Maybe it can be like UVa game last season — uncertain because it's a road game, but opponent is perhaps beatable.

Not to look too far ahead, but snag that one, and Missouri could go to Ames unbeaten — what an opportunity. Could very well get blasted out of the gym, based on results so far; but maybe it's time for Hilton Magic II?

All I ask, short-term: stay in the conference mix.

Or a guard. One play CA literally stood and watched a guy drive the lane when he was down on the baseline guarding another guy. I think this was before he had picked up 2 fouls. If he had two fouls I understand but it was brutal to see.

We need another post player.

I miss the days when we enjoyed wins here and celebrated them. Those were fun days.

A&M isn't very good this year, we should be able to hang with them even on the road. It will be a good test for us.

They aren't world beaters but they are certainly better than most the teams we have played to date. Playing in College Station will not be an easy task for this team either. Hopefully we come out and the ball is going through the hoop for us or it will be tough.

Hopefully everyone settles into the team mentality soon. Scotty is there, and Royce likes to dish, but some of the other transfers are still trying to make their old teams regret losing them, rather than making their current team feel lucky to have them.

The sooner they care more about what their current teammates think than about what their former teammates think we'll be rolling.

Great game. Glad to see something encouraging heading into the meat of the season.

That type of **** calling of a game by refs takes advantage away from whoever has momentum. I thought the effort was very good. Had some lapses of concentration, but I'm happy with the way they played considering the refs controlled the game.

The foul on Raily's clean block adds two points to Texas final total in the final score, no way anyone could disagree with that since it happened with .8 seconds left.

Really a horribly officiated game, an example of why outside of ISU I am an NBA fan and think the college game sucks in comparison. NBA has its own shadiness, but the calls are 100x more consistent from game to game so you know what to expect.

Texas ended up getting a ton of fouls too but part of that was because they couldn't guard Royce without fouling and knew he was struggling from the line. The first ten minutes of the second half was a whistle in Texas favor every single time they had the ball, in all honesty maybe two or three possessions where they didn't get a whistle until midway through the second half.
