Grayer's kid playing vs Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State up 48-46 with about 4 minutes left. They are without Forte and another starter in Hammonds. Shine is also out. Grayer has a game high 17 points.

I'd hate to be judged with 2 starters out of our lineup.

Wish we had signed him just on genetic potential. Those of you who never had the chance to see Jeff Grayer in person really missed out. Silky smooth but powerful athlete.

That he was. Got the chance to play pick up with him and Elmer Robinson a couple of times in Beyer, both strong as oxen.

Grayer is on fire!

Is he a late blooming freshmen??? Yahoo site says he didn't commit until August this year.

I don't think he was a late bloomer as much as he was very heavily considering a year of prep school. As of August, he was still 17 years old. According to a George Mason report: "Grayer was in the NBPA Top 100 camp this year which features the country’s elite basketball prospects."

I'd categorize this a late steal and not a surprise find.

Jeff Grayer would guard Danny Manning or Wayman Tisdale on one end of the floor and put up a very efficient 20+ points and get 7-8 rebounds. As good as any that played at Iowa State? Maybe.

Every time I see a Grayer dunk highlight I always freak out cause its amazing.

Back in those days not as many players did weight training. Iowa state had been bad for so long that most of our players came in looking like one of Iowa's gingers. Just looking at Jeff when he came to ISU we could see he was special.

Maryland is confusing to me. I really don't believe in Sulaimon and Stone, and I think Layman is not a great CBB player.

Not many players who aren't shot blocking centers ever make all conference defensive first team all four years.

Grayer was a fantastic player.....maybe the best all round cyclone player ever. We are not doing well with legacy players. May be too early to judge grayer's kid, but I bet we could have had him, if we wanted him. Adrian moores kid picked ou over us......he looks like a player.

I'm not sure how happy Jeff is with ISU after getting hired to Asst, coach and then getting let go before getting the chance when McD left.
