In 2 places. Between ames and huxley, and then again north of Ankeny.

The one between ames and huxley was supposed to reopen sometime in late september, but no idea if that's on track.
I live near the Ankeny closure so I'm familiar with that. Didn't know about Ames and would have inevitably found out the hard way. Very nearly did today.

I hate how they feel like the sheep need to be distracted the entire game. We have to listen to rap music between many plays, we get the screaming hawkeye lady trying to hype us up on the big screen (and she was insufferable by the way)…it gets old.

Maybe we just want to sit and enjoy our beer and talk to our friends between plays sometimes.
What are you talking about? We aren't allowed to have beer in the stadium..lol

The old lady behind me thought the same ;)
Great minds. Maybe those two could team up and replace Jackie. Teenager told me all about new players and who was out injured. I’m sure he could handle the smile cam

Not exactly sure.
Who gives a **** which sports teams people follow? She's doing her job. Don't look now but our PA announcer is also an Iowa fan. He also does a good job.

Some of you need to get a grip on **** that actually matters. You may not like the stadium host stuff but you likely aren't the target audience. They're trying to get younger people.
All 3 of my kids, ages 17-24 thought she was annoying. Are you talking the 10 year old kids?

I never liked the policy of leave and reentry after half time. The 2nd half kickoff with the stands half empty looks bad. But I can't blame anyone for not coming back in after this crazy lady screamed at them during the breaks in the 1st half. She's just awful.

Everyone has touched on it, but I'm also not a fan of having an in-stadium hype person. It's not fitting of the college football experience. More college, less corporate and we will be on the right track.

Not a fan of throwing a QR code on the big screen and getting everyone on their phones for trivia. Make it crowd participatory on the jumbotron. Keep people engaged with the game, not with their phone.

Some might think this is the view of a curmudgeon, but I was in the student section until this year. People all ages want the college gameday experience. It works like magic.

Apparently it takes two months to take out a culvert pipe, place a new precast culvert and pave over it........
You know, maybe the construction crew just needs a little motivation and some hype woman to get them going every morning. You've given me an idea...

I think someone already said something like this but game day host is more for professional sports with longer seasons imo. The guy that does it for the Minnesota Twins is good.

Anyone who goes to Iowa Wild games (triple A version of hockey) is familiar with her. She absolutely in no way deserves to have a job in Jack Trice Stadium. She belongs at Wells Fargo (barely) trying to "pump up" crowds of 1k-5k...63k Jack Trice Stadium? No way. This didn't need to happen. ISU needs to abort it. Hiring a hawk fan for this job was just stupid.

I think that’s more that the Twins have some terrific content to go along with it. The “celebrities” in the crowd is pretty great. Even the more lame sponsorship things are far more entertaining than anything between game action at ISU. Granted, personnel and production budgets are a wee bit different I’m sure.

Back when she had long hair during the CW Morning Show days with Lou....

Sweet Jesus, oh my god she was STUNNING!!!!

Not so much anymore with the short hair. Just not her look.

What am I saying? Still would.
Looks like the brush I use to clean my toilet with.

For those of us that have to watch on tv, we can tell.

Outside of the first touchdown it was quiet as hell in there today. It was majority of the games last year. Not sure if it’s the students moving or what but JTS has sounded quiet for the past year.
An opponent's 23 play 12.5 minute drive for a field goal in front of a sun baked crowd will tend to quiet down a stadium. UND put the sleeper hold on us.

The final wide crowd shot at the two-minute warning looked like spring game levels of attendance. Looked like 95% of you decided to GTFO early.
If you had to sit on the east side staring into the blazing sun for 3+ hours, I'm guessing you might have left early too.

I'm so glad I switched over to the west side of the stadium a few years ago. I sit in the top row of the lower bowl and I was in the shade the entire game. Felt bad for everyone sitting on the east side.
