Back when she had long hair during the CW Morning Show days with Lou....

Sweet Jesus, oh my god she was STUNNING!!!!

Not so much anymore with the short hair. Just not her look.
Gave me Big Bird vibes...not a good look and was very annoying. By the second quarter, I totally tuned her out. She did not generate any positive energy for the game.

The final wide crowd shot at the two-minute warning looked like spring game levels of attendance. Looked like 95% of you decided to GTFO early.
The East stands cleared far earlier. The sun was a factor I'd say. Once the game looked certain at about 5 or 6 to go, the West stands started to clear. The 3 or 4 TOs ans 2 long commercial breaks toward the end got a LOT of people up at the end there.

I think that’s more that the Twins have some terrific content to go along with it. The “celebrities” in the crowd is pretty great. Even the more lame sponsorship things are far more entertaining than anything between game action at ISU. Granted, personnel and production budgets are a wee bit different I’m sure.
The "coaches headset cam" has some potential. It would be hilarious if someone does the "I fu##ing love him, I fu##ing love him!" impersonation of CMC. THAT would get the crowd roaring. Problem was, even that was choppy and I think the woman was screaming over the mic during that, too.

Yeah, the left side of my face is pretty crispy today. The right side is untouched (we were in SE section).

I can totally see how you have done the extensive research to try and pass that off as a fact. I'm betting Athletics actually has.

People said timeouts are boring as **** (they're right). Athletics is trying something for entertainment during breaks. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. Will they learn about the experience and improve it? I'd be shocked if there wasn't already a meeting or one scheduled for Tuesday morning to work through some tweaks.

Athletics is responding to feedback. This is a case where doing something and not being perfect is still a vast improvement from doing nothing.
Bad idea. Let the great band play.

Boring game, arguably a poor performance relative to expectations, and sneaky hot weather. Probably a lot of memories of last year's season opening postgame traffic debacle too. (Which thankfully did not materialize.)
Three police cars closing Dayton to US 30 was better traffic control?

They've been doing that for the past few years. I agree it sucks. Regardless it wasn't a huge PITA to get out yesterday like it was in last year's opener.

Anyone who goes to Iowa Wild games (triple A version of hockey) is familiar with her. She absolutely in no way deserves to have a job in Jack Trice Stadium. She belongs at Wells Fargo (barely) trying to "pump up" crowds of 1k-5k...63k Jack Trice Stadium? No way. This didn't need to happen. ISU needs to abort it. Hiring a hawk fan for this job was just stupid.
She does Barnstormer games too and is just as awful as those.

Yes. I don't think that on ramp has been open for years because of the volume of traffic trying to get onto 35S and the merge in and off being in the same spot.

I saw a lot of fans calling for more in-game entertainment because the timeouts were so empty and boring. That was definitely a topic of conversation.

The problem is, this isn’t in game entertainment. This is shifting ad reads from the PA announcer to someone else. It added absolutely nothing to the game day experience other than an annoying screeching lady.

One thing I saw yesterday that I've never seen before is all the fans that were leaving at the northwest entrance were being held up by security for a long time. People were backed up all the way up the ramp. I've never seen or noticed this before.

Unfortunately I think these game day hosts are here to stay. We see them all the time in the pros and with more and more commercials breaks these days, teams are trying to find ways to distract us from complaining about how often and long media timeouts are.

If this is truly a thing for the future I would rather see her do things like fan interviews and Trivia questions. When I go to Minnesota Wild games, the hosts seem focus on fan interactions doing things like answer 4 questions and get a shirt.

At this current stage, if Iowa state is trying to incentivize and improve the game day. The current iteration is missing the mark.

I just can't get on board with an ISU GameDay host who will be rooting for the hawks against us next week. Gtfoh.
So how do you feel about the PA guy being an Iowa grad and fan?

I think the huge difference between the two however is the AD got out in front of the "we hired a Hawk" with the PA guy and seemingly tried to sneak it by this time. In either case the most qualified person should be who gets the gig.

Just turn down her damn mic and she won't be as....piercing. I'm kind of surprised there isn't software running on the in stadium audio that equalizes all sounds from mics/music pumped in/etc. so you don't have wild differences in sound output that makes it significantly less pleasing to the ears.
