Was he? I know the story for a while was that he was waiting on a Pitt offer. If he was offered that is an even bigger coup for Coach Fred given that at one point it looked like Pitt was a front runner if they offered.

Yup, I remember there was a thread saying we had no chance because he was just offered by Pitt.

He was offered by Pitt a month or two...there is an article somewhere on this site about it if you check the archives. His coach had even commented on how his game would be a perfect fit for Pitt so needless to say, people on here were writing him off...

He was offered by Pitt in April.

Any time that ISU can beat out Steve Lavin at St. Johns for a NYC prospect along with the likes of Arizona and Pitt, it should definitely be considered a win.

Ya, Pitt offered him. I remember everyone had given up on Okoro once they did and I didn't understand why. We've been his leader since January and the staff has been going after him hard. I didn't think we'd let him slip away.

I gave up back then. I assumed that the Pitt offer was the one he wanted, and everyone else (including us) was a backup plan.

I hope this report is correct. That's one way that I'd be glad to be proven wrong.
