I've been wearing glasses for probably the past 6 years or so. I probably needed them before that, but just didn't want to deal. Well, this past Monday, they upgraded me to bifocals. (Does "progressives" sound less old AF than "bifocals?") I'm not that old, my eyes' suckiness are just progressing pretty rapidly.
Before the bifocals, I kept having to lift up my glasses to read close-up stuff that wasn't on my phone or computer. I almost primarily read books on my phone/iPad rather than in physical form, so I hadn't really noticed I was doing this... until I got the bifocals. I keep lifting up my glasses to look at things and then realize that I don't need to.
