See we can’t watch TV together, I would go with Serenity or Out of Gas.
I also found River’s in your face sexuality kind of creepy. Granted I’m not a dude but didn’t think she was all that attractive.

I almost went with Out of Gas. Definitely the best dramatic episode and a great synopsis of how the crew was assembled. I might actually change my answer to that.
Eh, River was fun. She was rarely the main focus so she didn't take anything away for me. I like that she was unique to the Doctor Who universe.
I think San Juniperso sucks but everyone loves it so I begrudgingly agree

I didn’t think it sucked. It was well made, but it was like, so opposite of every other Black Mirror episode ever made. That’s not the one episode I’d recommend just because then people would expect happy endings with every other episode and that’s the exact opposite of everything Black Mirror is.
I got hooked by watching "The Midterms" in syndication. I then went back and started at the very beginning. If you want to hook 'em with intelligent dialogue, I'd go with the pilot or Midterms.
For heart, it would be "In Excelsis Deo" or "Posse Comitatus". In the first, Toby tries to get a deceased, homeless vet a proper burial. Watching Mrs. Landingham flinch every time the salute is fired gave me chills. In the second, four words: CJ on the bench.
Aw, who am I kidding - the first four seasons were pure gold. Still pretty good in the final three.

One thing I've always wondered about was why they chose "The National Anthem" as the first episode. That one was a little off putting. I was intrigued enough that I kept watching but I think it weirded out my wife and she isn't a fan of the show.
I think "Fifteen Million Merits" is a MUCH better episode and it would be the one I would chose to hook someone else.
It helps that Daniel Kaluuya is a tremendous actor, but that episode kind of encapsulates what technology and pop culture are somewhat capable of, which seems like the point of the show. While being completely messed up as well.

Honestly, The National Anthem was the one that effected me the most out of any. I legit just sat there for about 20 minutes in silence after watching it. But if I were to reccomend one that wasn’t National Anthem, I’d probably go with Shut Up and Dance. It just keeps getting darker, and darker, and darker, and darker as the episode goes on.
