First time hillside

Until they do they should sit in the seat they paid for.
For the most part I get what you're saying, & in no way am I taking 21's side on this. But when I buy hillside tickets, then look over & see a third of a section empty, I'm not just going to sit on my hill & wish I could afford those seats. It's not like I'm taking your seats, or anybody else's who decided to show up for it, so I don't see why you're so defensive about them.

And if you want Jack Trice to continue to look like an empty ****** stadium on tv, then i guess keep your stance.

This is exactly how I feel.

You don't see the upper deck for more than a few seconds in any game....try again. Why don't you go into the club seats? Because you aren't supposed to. Why are any other seats any different?

Listen, I know what you are saying. Your stance isn't going to change what I do. I'm going to continue to do this....well until they actually check tickets.

:policeman: And what do you care isuaggie? You live in Texas. I'm sure you don't come and spend much money in Jack Trice.

I don't see anything wrong with buying hillside tickets and then moving into empty seats sometime after the game starts. Taking empty seats can be a risk because the people might show up late. Buying a hillside ticket is a gamble that pays off for most games, and ISU could easily end it by having a few people to check tickets in the lower sections.

I buy road game tickets in the south and have flown back to games when possible.
Great then. You know what? At least we are both spending money on games. We could easily sit on our butts and watch games on tv. Nothing more to argue about.

Anyone ever get a ticket for the suites? I had a guy try and sell me one for like 30-40 bucks...and out of curiosity I almost bought it.

I would have kept my regular seat/ticket as well just so I wouldn't have to mingle with some strangers all game long and probably would have found myself in some weird situation where they might have been thinking "who the F is this guy, and why is he in here?".

I will say I was damn curious though to at least go in and check it out for a few minutes. I just didn't know what the social setting is like in there, and didn't feel like intruding I guess.

I hate to take Clones21's sides, but I'd prefer people on hillsides sit in unused regular seats.

If for no reason other than to point out that we sell more tickets than seats nearly each and every game, even if we don't sell a ticket for each seat.

I am with Al. Good empty seats **** me off. If no one is going to sit there, I don't see the harm in someone coming from somewhere else to take them. It's pretty harmless but I suppose some would like to beat on their drum because they paid for the better seats and don't want someone infringing on their benefit whether it actually affects them or not.

Entitlement :goofy:

i know what you mean.

It's funny, when you spend a lot of time on CF, or any message board I would imagine, you get to the point where you get a picture in your head of what certain posters look like. I think it's the mind's way of "filling in the blanks," so to speak, because while message board discussions are very much real conversations, the lack of visual or auditory interaction, can be a little disjointed. Concocting an image of the person typing is probably the way the brain adapts to the difference. And these profiles that we imagine, are solely based on what that other person has written, which is kind of cool when you think about it. We probably do something similar when reading great books like the Odyssey or the Divine Comedy and get an image of what Homer or Dante must have been like. Kind of an interesting trick of the mind, I think.

The point is, these images change over time. Using CF as a completely hypothetical example, the image that I have for some posters might have started one way, and evolved into something entirely different as they continue to post. Someone who I initially imagined as a sophomoric, popped collar type d-bag, might change over time as their posts reveal more depth to their personality and ideas that I respect, and as my impression of their writing changes, so does the image in my head. Popped collars get turned down, spray on tans get removed, etc.

Or, it might go the other way. Initial impressions might have suggested an immature, socially awkward, little wannabee, and my mind created a representative picture, but over time, and after reading many a post, the image in my head changes, and I realize that my first impression was wrong, and the nose that I imagined is much more ratlike than I initially thought.

Just something to think about.
