Fire all the coaches.

I know it won't happen, but seriously, you could easily make a case to fire everyone on this staff. This game just emphasized to me how bad the coaching really is. They really look like they don't belong out there.

I'm giving CPR the rest of this season to pull his head out of his rear. Next year better be an improvement (that's not asking a **** of a lot after this year).

ISU classic game right there... **** it all up at the end after a great play...

Fire everyone but CPR. If we lose some of the recruits, fire them all.

Mess should be gone by tomorrow. No reason not to...it's a freakin joke. Rhoads should be embarrassed

I don't think people understand how horrible firing CPR would look to the national media and the coaches we'd want to hire. If you fire CPR within the next 3 years, you literally wouldn't be able to find a coach willing to interview for this job. Think about it: You have no tradition, no wins the previous year, no program prestige, somewhat poor location, nasty conference, and few recruiting hotbeds to pull from. Add that into the fact that there is a good chance you'd be fired if you have one down year (despite whatever you did the previous few seasons) while making one of the lowest salaries in the Big 12 regardless of how long your contract is.

Good luck finding a suitable candidate with any amount of interest in the position. Even if you pull in a suitable candidate, if they go 5-17 they will just be hired away and we'll start this merry-go-round all over again.

As much as I wish the situation were different and we were winning right now, it's the situation we find ourselves in. Let's just do what we can to stay positive. If we are in the same position 3-4 years from now, we can do what is needed with the leadership of the program when it wouldn't be such a public relations cluster****.

Until then, I'll support the players, program, and coaches while depending on JP to make the calls as he sees fit.

Literally no one in the nation would blink an eye. And a MAC level coach or decent BCS coordinator would still gladly take the job.

Moreso, they would look at his record since the Okie State game, the one that should have been a landmark victory for a new era or something, and say "well, he went 7-18 (today, possibly 7-21 by season's end) since that game. He just isn't getting the job done."

When you fire someone in their 5th year, nobody blinks.
When you fire someone in their 5th year whose program is in a free fall, it makes sense to people everywhere.

I'm not all the way there, but I wouldn't feel bad for him or concerned for the future. 1-8 is what it is. What it is is a very replaceable coach and staff.

We have no tradition now. We are bottom feeders as we speak.

Every time Gary has been back to field punts for the past three (or more?) games, it has been questioned on these forums. People like to say that coaches are smarter than fans, but when something this obvious happens week after week and there is no accountability... not going to finish this sentence.

Guys that make 6 & 7 figures have no egos and are not stubborn at all and have no reason to try to prove themselves knowing they still get a fat paycheck every week. Rich people in sports have never been known to be like this.

The official world order of professional intelligence goes like this:

1) Rocket Scientist
2) Brain Surgeon
3) Football Coach
4) Astrophysicist
5)Chemical Engineer

Why would it look horrible to potential coaches? It looks like ISU will end with a 2-win season in the coach's fifth year, four losing seasons in a row, the offense has been terrible for five years, and the QB management/development has been a disaster for the last four years. I doubt that any potential coaches are going to hold a grudge against ISU for trying to improve that.

The Big 12 is stable for at least another decade because of the GOR, so no potential coach has to worry about ISU getting dumped to a lesser conference for the near future, and the ISU AD is as financially well off as it ever has been, and in a position to go out and spend cash to make a Johnny Orr type hire.

Of course, Rhoad's huge contract buyout will kill any such notion of a coaching change, but other than that, I think it would be as good a time as any to make a head coaching change. There would likely be naysayers in the media, but that's always the case.
