I don't think it's a look they can really do when Abby Wambach is in the game (both her and Morgan play up front), as a 4-3-3 is really one forward and two wingers.
When Wambach came into the game they changed to the traditional 4-4-2. Both forwards play in front of the goal and midfielders come up to take the wings
Can you imagine the trouble a male star athlete would be in? The public outcry would be intense right now.
Not justifying what Solo did, but when a male star athlete attacks a female that is three times as large and strong as he is, then perhaps we can start having this debate of "can you imagine the trouble a male star athlete would be in?"
You clearly have not been in many fights. Height and weight advantages do not matter when someone is slamming your head against a concrete floor and being the first to attack is by far a bigger advantage than size.
One of the biggest problems with domestic violence in this country is archaic thoughts like yours. When does the perceived disadvantage of height or weight kick in to make it not worth debating whether someone should be in trouble? 2 inches and 20lbs more? Is that a fair enough fight to make it a big enough deal?
France owned them too, just got beat on a late hand call, which France didn't get on 1st half. Felt good about USA chances after that match.
I like watching this. Alex Morgan, Ali Krieger, Amy Rodriguez, Hope Solo...to name a few? What's not to like?

ha ya i'm well versed in soccer strategy. they actually didn't even play 433, it ended up being more 4 2 3 1.
Question for y'all. On Johnston's yellow card (which really should have been a red) on Germany's Popp for that first PK, should Solo have come out to contest that? The replay just showed Johnston's take-down so I didn't get a second look at the field, but when I watched it in real time, I was thinking that Solo should have been out there.
I didn't remember seeing any other German forwards coming on the left side to help Popp out, and the ball hung in the air a long time. I was expecting to see Solo come out to collect the ball since she would have had a better vantage point than Johnston trying to go over her shoulder like that. Was it too far out at the top of the box to contest?

Johnston played it pretty poorly (as she did with another similar ball earlier in the game) but you could definitely argue Hope should've come out for it. And yes, should have been a red card.
