Favorite World City

Travel to Italy quite a bit for work. Everytime I set foot in Venice, I feel i have taken a trip back in time. Our factory headquarters are located in Lentiai, Italy. The production facility sits at the foot of the Dolomites, a spectacular mountain range, part of the Italian Alps. We stay in the town of Belluno, quiet and scenic. I would suggest if a person is near Venice, it is just about an hour to Belluno. This part of Italy is famous for its Proseco wine!!!

I'll second that. I love Venice

I spent quite a bit of time in that region as well. I would recommend Asolo and Bassano del Grappa nearby.

Venice is one of those cities that everyone should see at least once. After spending a day or two there, it's time to get out and see the real Italy and embrace their culture. You wont find that in Venice.

1. Los Angeles area
2. Paris
3. Amsterdam
4. Cologne, Germany (the Dom Cathedral alone puts it on this list)
5. Den Bosch ('s-Hertogenbosch), Netherlands
6. Nijmegen, Netherlands (was there during their walking festival, imagine old Veishea on steriods and a week long)

Los Angeles area is still tops for the best food, drink (beats Paris) and overall things to do.

Agreed. That cathedral is the neatest building I've ever been in.

I've yet to travel anywhere abroad as an adult, but when I was younger I enjoyed going with my parents to Venice. Really unique city, and fun to just walk around in. Florence, aside from the constant traffic noise right outside your hotel room, is extremely beautiful with all of its red roofs.

I'm just taking a stab, but I bet I'm about the only person on these forums that has been to see Bran Castle in Romania, otherwise known as "Dracula's" Castle. It was eerie going there for the first time, but quickly lost its luster when I learned that Vlad the Impaler might not have even lived there..

I loved Cairns, I just didn't like that all the beaches were mud. I loved staying in Sydney.

I love almost any Australian city. Melbourne was okay. Liked Sydney better. Cairns was great because of the barrier reef and the farmers markets. Awesome fresh fruit.

Best:
1) Yanama, Peru
2) Gubbio, Italy
3) Ljubljana or Bled, Slovenia
4) Copenhagen
5) Helsinki
6) Budapest (blows Prague out of the water)
7) Montreal

Worst:
1) Naples, Italy
2) Mexico City
3) Ica, Peru
4) Cancun, Mexico (Horrible city, beautiful coastline)
5) Belize City (Horrible city, beautiful coastline)

Personally, I am a huge fan of San Sebastian, Spain. imho, San Sebastian is the most beautiful city in all of Europe with its great beaches, rocky shorelines, lush mountains and really nice people. Not to mention they are also known for their incredible, incredible food.

2. Madrid, Spain: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Real Madrid, amazing architecture, lots of museums, really easy to get around

3. Lisbon, Portugal: Another great Iberian city with a few really interesting museums and also amazing architecture.

Been to...

Paris
London
A host of other English cities and towns

I agree. If my wife and I could keep our current salary, I'd seriously consider moving to London. London is so expensive though.

Berlin and Dresden. The capitals of the Baltic States (Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), and Vilnius (Lithuania)). Stockholm. Amsterdam. St. Petersburg.
