Re: For the Twins fans out there

Here is a little Twins - Cyclones trivia. Who are the two people in Cyclone baseball who had ties to the Minnesota Twins. And I'm almost positive they were here at the same time. There might be more but these are the only two I can think of.

Bobby Randle & L.C. (Larry Corrigan)

Those who are listing more than one team, I don't know how someone's two favorite teams can be in the same division.

I don't know how someone can have more than 1 favorite???

Isn't your favorite the one that you like more than any other? How can you have 2? :dull:

Hi Steve, You bested me because I had totally forgotten about Corrigan. The other one I was thinking about besides Randall, and I know this is a stretch, was the great Bob Allison's son who played here when Randall was coach (I think). I can't remember his son's name now.

I agree with this, too, but I do understand that there are teams that some people will root for and not call them their favorite team. My favorite is far and away the White Sox, but I do like to see Milwaukee do well.

My number one will always be whoever pays the little bro  Aside from that I have never really had a 'favorite' just teams and players I follow... I just appreciate good baseball... Thats why I have so many faves.

It goes like this: I grew up in Oklahoma listening to the Cardinals Radio Network, but loved to watch Nolan Ryan pitch for the Astros. We didn't have a MLB team in our state, so I went with these two teams. I was literally 6 years old when I picked my alliances and didn't understand they were division rivals until I was older. Now, I just love the fact that both teams hate the Cubs, so no way I'm going to abandon either one.

I may have to be a bit of an Oriole fan now as a friend of mine (and former ISU baseball player) just got the Director of Media Relations job for them.

This is the year-Go Cubs Go. (Twins in the AL are a distant second)

I knew it was PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to have a baseball fan thread without that being said. Just like every other conversation anyone has with a Cubbie fan for, oh say, the last century.

I've been a die-hard D-Backs fan since they started playing. How many of you Cubs or Cards fans can say that about your team?

That is funny because I am about to be in the process of trying to get credentialed to shoot an Oriole game in late July/Early August since I will be out there for about a week. I'm also hoping to see your brother pitch in person.

Mets fan by birth and family.

Twins fan since 2000 when Selig (who is intrinsically attached to the Brewers) decided that Minneapolis couldn't support a MLB team and threatened to contract them (as if his intention wasn't primarily taking out the nearby competition to try to expand his Brewer fanbase). Since that day the Twins have been my favorite - with the Mets being a VERY CLOSE second.

Since the Cubs are in Year 100 to Win, I suppoort the Cubs. Ron Santo has to be a keeper in the broadcast booth. One of a kind.

I have only one item of Cubs memorabilia - the 1914 road hat

1914cub.jpg

The only reason why I have it is because I went to Wrigley on Tuesday, and I'm trying to do a "stadium tour" type of thing, so every time I visit a stadium I pick up an "authentic" hat. I don't really care for any of their current "gameday" hats, and they don't have the "walking bear" on any of their current "gameday" hats, so I decided to go throwback.

Stadiums I've visited (and hats I coincidentally have):
Shea Stadium
Wrigley Field
(old) Busch Stadium
Ameriquest Field (Arlington)
US Cellular Field (I lost this hat so unfortunately I guess I'm gonna have to get a new one )

Gonna have to make sure I make it to a game in Minneapolis next year before the Twins move out of the Homer Dome. I want to see first hand just how bad of an experience it is. Fortunately for me, I won't have to buy a hat as I already own all three. I may just have to get a jersey instead...
