So my families bar is trying to make a change toward only offering craft beer on tap but they want to set themselves apart by offering beers that you might not find at other bars. So I turn to you CycloneFanatics to help us out your and name some of your favorite craft beers. To give you an idea of what we have right now: New Belgium: Fat Tire, sommersault, Ranger, Grand Cru, Rogue Summer Orange, Rogue OREgasmic Ale, Guinness, Frambois, ABT 15, Boulevard...and a few other basics. Any suggestions would be awesome.

I love Hoegaarden, and the only bar that I know of in DM that offers it on tap is Goodsons in Beaverdale.

I don't know if you can get kegs of it but I really like Lucky Bucket. Bell's also has a ton of good beer.

Two of my favorites are: Moosedrool and Millstream John's

Crispin Cider just became available in Iowa and it's pretty good. A lot better than Woodchuck. I'm a beer guy, but I ordered this at a bar once just because I had never seen it on tap before.

Abita has some solid beers as well. They are out of Louisiana. Turbo Dog, Purple Haze, and Jockamo are their best.

Goose Island Matilda might be in my top 3 favorite beers. I know of maybe a handful of bars with that on tap due to the cost.

My favorites right now are Newcastle Brown, 312 Wheat, Lucky Bucket, Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout, and Left Hand Porter.

This. But if you do this, make sure to get some of their strawberry beer too when it is in season.

Also, have you looked at Olde Main beers?

Here, I'll be the mediator:

Both IPAs and Wheats are great if done well. IPAs have some of the most interesting flavors found in beer, and Wheats are just so damn refreshing.

IPAs has had quite the revival over the past few years. A lot of people think sour beers will be the next beer fad, especially since people are making them with lower abv%. There aren't many sour beers right now on tap, but I'd expect to see that change soon.

I got introduced to sour beers touring the New Belgium brewery and I agree with this. They are pretty damn awesome.

No, I was right and you were wrong.

If you like sticking your head in a bale of straw then wheat beers are the way to go.

IPA's have such complex flavors and are amazingly refreshing. It is to bad that many of the best IPA's are not found here in Iowa yet due to past alcohol laws. Eventually they will be more readily available.

Sorry to hear you've only had crappy wheat beers.

Ummm....tasty wheat beer:
