Amazing. They pushed out a network change and locked themselves out and now they need physical access to the servers to update them but there’s not enough employees at the Facebook data centers to do them all. Plus the data center monkeys can’t authenticate anyway to change thelol.

Also they are idiots for not having a OOB network in case **** hit the fan like this.

I feel bad for the individuals on the incident team but this is hilarious and shows even the big guys can screw up

They do have an emergency IRC server for disaster recovery... but it's also down.

Part of the gist of last night’s expose was that FB misled their investors. So I would say yes.

anyone ever think about that small facebook city in Altoona/Bondurant that has been created and still being expanded if they were to go out of business? its like 4-5 million SF of data center space...lol. I don't remember the actual SF, but its not small.

I suppose they could sell it to someone like Amazon, Google, Microsoft or Apple?

I only noticed because I went to see if my friend's wife, who has COVID and has been in ICU for a few weeks, is doing any better. Plus I lost my grandma this past week and was going to share some pics of her. But that being said, I couldn't be happier if I can never log into that space again.
