I thought we were in for a boring race but that one had action all the way through. Tough day for the guys that might in their last race, but at least Lewis and Carlos made the most of it before they moved on.

Can’t wait until ‘25

Piastri will need to be better next year to beat Ferrari. He is so far behind Lando. Also can’t wait to see if Lewis still has it or if Leclerc will smash him

So far behind seems a bit extreme, 2nd and 4th for the year.

I think both McLarens need to be more consistent. They had a better car than Ferrari most of the year they just have too many bad weekends so it was a close finish.

Same deal for Lando with the drivers next year, likely going to have some really tight margins, can’t have the strategy mistakes or brain farts like last weekend.

I want to see a legit title chase for Lewis again at Ferrari but I think it’s a lot more likely that Charles ends another champs career.
Lewis isn't winning another title, at least not in a Ferrari. Maybe he could have gave Max a hard time in the McLaren this year but Ferrari is ran by clowns and they'll never make a serious run at a title until they clean out the engineering staff.

I wouldn't write Lewis off at Ferrari next year even. Clown Ferrari all you want. This is a team that typically cant develop a car over a season worth a damn. They brought a massive update to Monza and over the last 9 races they score more points than any other team (245 to McLaren's 228), tied most wins with McLaren (3) and Leclerc had the most points of any driver (139 to Max 134 and Lando 133). All that with Max/Lando in a title fight up until post-Brazil and Ferrari trying to chase down McLaren for the constructors.

So I think it's very reasonable to believe that Ferrari had a car that was arguably as good as any on the grid for the last third of the year, they seem to always be fast at the start of a year (development is the issue) and I believe Lewis (with a car that can win) is as good as anybody still. I think there is every chance they come out of the gates as the fastest car to start next year and Leclerc/Hamilton (re-invigorated) would be the best driver pair on the grid.

This is 2 years out but still exciting to see a second US "based" team coming together.

I am a novice to this sport...but after watching several races it seems like most races are just a really fast parade with very expensive cars. Little passing, particularly with the leaders of the race. It's like if you seen the running order on lap 2, for the most part it will be the same running order on the last lap.

I could see someone would think that. It's not that though. A lot of stuff goes into it. Everyone has their favorite teams. It would be like comparing basketball to saying "I am new to basketball and have watched Iowa State this year and it just seems like they blow everyone out except for one team". Techinically that is what has happened this year. However, you are not mentioning recruiting, the style of play we have, our history, the other teams we are competing against. F1 is the same way. Sure sometimes race day is a bit predictable after qualifying. You should really watch the Netflix show. It shows a lot of behind the scenes stuff, You will get a favorite driver. Lot's of stuff if you are interested. Plus, it's a pretty dang good show.

That is very track dependent. The aero is also set-up very differently than a stock car which makes passing more difficult. You'll never see the kind of drafting like you see in oval track racing because it destroys the tires. These guys are within a couple of tenths of a second over every lap so it takes a lot to close a 1-2 second gap with the cars. Because of that you really only see passes at the end of a long straight when guys will brake late to shoot past somebody to attempt a pass. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

It can appear that way. I don't blame someone who sees it like that. Personally, I'm just a fan of road racing in general. I'll pretty much watch any type of car go around a track if it's on TV. I guess it's just one of those things that appeals to you or doesn't. Ironically, I actually can't stand watching NASCAR though. Never been a fan of it. Hell, I watched almost the entire 24 hours of Les Mans this year except for grabbing a little sleep. I wasn't glued to the screen, but I had it on some form of device the whole time.

I can't watch Nascar. I have been to a race and in person it's pretty fun. However, watching it on TV and them just doing lap after lap. It's really boring to me. I can't watch Hockey on TV either. In person it's fantastic. I can watch F1 on TV though.

The Monaco race was one where there was virtually no passing. Once the drivers got through the first two corners the race was set and done....then the rest of the race was a parade going by the fans.

However, I really like several things about F1. The precision of the teams and drivers is incredible. The length of the races and track layout is interesting. The manufactures competition is cool.

Oh...and that Verstappen guy seems like an arrogant prick...but he's my driver :)

Yeah, the actual Monaco race typically happens in Qualifying on Saturday, and then Sunday is just boring.

Monaco the race sucks. Monaco qualifying is motorsport at it's peak.
