F1 2024 Discussion

Red Bull is going to announce the new driver in a couple of days per Marko….are we thinking Yuki?

Marko just talks to talk half the time I think, still a better than decent chance they just resign Checo IMO. I think people don't realize just how much money he brings in.

They said to fire him it will be 75 million dollars and that is the reason they are trying to figure it out and why it is taking so long. Not sure why they don't just put him in the VCarb. His contract must state he needs to be in the Red bull.

Three primary reasons:
1. Money
2. Money
3. Money

Crazy bad year for him in that car. Gotta think a lot of other drivers would have done much better. Winning the constructors would pay a portion of that $75m. I gotta think the only reason he is there is that Max likes him there.

Correct … Max doesnt want someone who will challenge him. He wants someone who will ‘support’ him.

And there it is. Checo gone.

Wish they would have promoted Yuki. I would not be shocked to see them make a driver switch after about the 10th race. I just think Yuki is way better than Lawson. Max probably don't want Yuki because Yuki is a fighter and Max would rather have someone who is willing to just be the second guy

I feel with Honda coming to Aston Martin that's a natural fit for him... Fernando has to retire eventually, right? We all know how Fernando felt about Honda a while ago.

Isack Hadjar drove in the testing the other day and didn't look so good. Wonder if they will bring him up or someone else.

Looks like it's Hadjar, man... does RB Academy just not have the drivers they used to?
Well when you blow through all the guys because you give them a few races to prove themselves, kind of run out of guys. Albon, Gasley, and now they won't promote Yuki. Better off being a Ferarri Jr, or Mercedes Jr.

I get the feeling one of the things holding Yuki back has been his attitude. From what I gather he can be pretty whiney, even for an F1 driver.

Lawson seems pretty solid in what I have seen of him.
