Ejim out 4-6 weeks

It's a loss no matter how you spin in, but better now that later... Or last year even. The blow will depend on how good Hogue is. Last year we didn't have Hogue, so either Gibson or Booker would have been starting.

If the rumors of Hogue being better than Ejim on the boards are true, and he still has the ability to slash to the hoop and put it back at this level then it comes down to our young guards.

All this extra playing time for the other guys could be a blessing for later in the year.. And speed up their development.

Last year we did also have Clyburn get rebounds, but it sounds like Kane will be doing that too. Plus Niang is a year better.

A friend of my son's who is a Hok fan transferred to Iowa State this fall. Blaming him for both the football team and this.

It's just a modification of something Fred and the guys mentioned. They've talked about Hogue getting right in there, and sometimes taking the ball right away from Melvin.

Pardon him for paying attention. I guess that's stupid.
It's a pattern.

So you agree with the jump from "Hogue took the ball from Melvin once" to "rumors of Hogue being a better rebounder?" You think that's reasonable? That's just a modification?

Yeah, that IS stupid.

Ansolutely correct. Why is everyone hating on Percy?? I just don't get it..

I screamed "**** this ****" at work. Got some weird looks.

For what it's worth - Saw Mel today as he came into a class and chatted with him briefly. Walked down ~20 steep steps to the front, no limp. Was in good spirits.

I know its anecdotal, but it makes me think (read: hope) that it's not as bad as advertised.

I'm all for people being negative about the situation but this is not necessary.

He is just extrapolating from this.

Hogue Brings The Energy | Cyclone Sidebar

Hoiberg said on Media Day that Hogue pulled one away from Ejim. Hogue is probably good rebounding given what coaches have said publicly. But this user is just turning "He's good on the boards, challenged Ejim once or twice" into a hyperbole that he's better than Ejim.

I'm pretty sure that at one point, Ejim also said that Hogue was more aggressive on rebounding than himself. Not sure exactly when I heard that, but I'm fairly certain Ejim said that

Well others will have to just step it up. It's a tough blow, but we can do it. We as fans will have to stay positive and be more loud at Hilton.

"hating"? ? That's not what I'm reading, as that's a strong word. Questioning his lack of playing time, contributions, improvement, etc. is understandable as that is coming from many who have sources alot closer to the program.

Melvin starts against Auburn and we'll be 4-1. No doubt in my mind.

Unfortunately, as much as I hate to say it, I'd have to disagree and take that bet. We barely ever beat UNI even at full strength, much less at BYU on the road.

if it isn't immobilized and he isn't even limping I can't imagine it taking that long to heal.
It may or may not , but what I heard was that he could injure it worse so they must be sure before rushing him back! Sounds like a wait-and-see to me.

There you go being stupid again.

Whoever is feeding you these rumors doesn't know what they're talking about, or you are putting your own spin on them. Maybe stop posting?

How's Steele doing?

Did RustShack steal your lunch money back in grade school or something?

Seems like you're taking this way too personally.

Hopefully he's back for Auburn, losing to the turd of the SEC hurts the resume. Then he'll be back in the flow of things for UNI and Iowa which are both potential tourney teams.

I don't "hate" Percy or any other of our players. I feel like I'd be a pretty poor fan if I did.

But objectively, to say that Percy went through a "sophomore slump" last season would be an understatement. His game at Texas last season might be the worst I've ever seen a Cyclone play.

But, with that being written, I do think he has the potential to be a solid player for us. I don't know if he'll ever be a full-time starter in his career, but at the least he can be a good role player, and I hope that starts this season, especially with Mel's injury.

I believe you might be referencing Georges saying he's never seen anyone be as aggressive about rebounding as Hogue has been.
