Early lead important

I've been saying the same thing ALL YEAR LONG and ISU keeps shutting my big mouth. Apparently this team cares not for early leads, just late ones. I'd prefer a blowout from tip to final whistle, but all the 11/12/13/14 seeds are showing how difficult that is once this 2014 Tourney tipped off...

KU seems to be taking the approach of let the opponent get the big lead and they will catch up.

Yeah, count me in on the punch 'em in the mouth to start the game and make them believe they're over matched. A whole lot of confidence and only 20 min to a 2nd half is a dangerous thing.

I think rather than worrying about getting an early lead, worry about matching their defensive intensity and then bringing it up a notch. Good defense at the beginning of games, and then sustaining that through the second half will have the Cyclones winning the game.

Getting a solid early lead can definitely help take some of the fight out. Get them believing its over. A good portion of a game is mental. Thats why I like our team this year, the mental toughness. When they have been down, they keep fighting.

DESTROY EARLY!

I think ISU should just post a shut out and not let them score at all.

Then the typical slow start or scoring drought will be a lot less stressful.

Is it me or are all these lower seeded teams playing out of their minds? it's like these seeds always play their best game of they year against top seeds. Drives me crazy. I mean KU is shooting 63% for the GAME! and E ky is shooting 34%!! and this is a 6 pt game with 7 min to go. Crazy

Totally agree. E Kentucky has made 10 3-pointers to Kansas' none.

The entire week I have been worried as all get out about this game and thinking we could be ripe for the upset. Somehow through all these upsets the past day and a half, I am feeling more and more confident. I think we win and win handily.

I think having one of the last Round of 64 games helps. Seeing Duke get upset and Creighton sweating should be enough of a shout out to our guys.

But I'm not too worried. We're clicking again and Fred is 2 for 2 in 1st (2nd, damn PC ********) Round games. Will be closer than some like, but we get it done.

79-66 Cyclones. Survive and advance.
