draft is over, rate your team

Re: draft is over rate your team

Im not sure that KC could have traded down. I think they would have a little if given the choice. I'd have given them a C. The vikings I give a C+.

Re: draft is over rate your team

c- for my raiders .... as i said they were dumb getting heyward-bey that high and once research was done on the S mitchell he was actually highly reguarded and was kind of a draft secret .... i think they messed up with their two 4th round picks and should have taken sidbury the de from richmond first and then murphy 2nd as sidbury was gone by time their 2nd pick came ....

Re: draft is over rate your team

Broncos D. They did not address needs. The needed to address the front seven on def. So what do they do outside of Ayers - the only reason they don't get an F, they draft a RB and secondary guys - all positions they addressed in free agency.

Re: draft is over rate your team

While I lack the  everyone else has for Denver, I do like the defensive picks. Just not to sure about Orton as the starting QB:skeptical:

Re: draft is over rate your team

I'm gonna go out there and give the Packers an A-

There were some glaring needs on this team, mostly at DL, OL, LB, and DB. All of those needs were addressed this weekend. Raji should be able to fill in with Pickett and take care of the NT position in the new 3-4 scheme. Matthews fills the other screaming hole, and the LB combination of Matthews, Barnett, Hawk, and Kampman has me drooling.

I was a little miffed at the amount they had to give up for Matthews, (2nd, 3rd, 3rd), particularly with the age at OT and CB. Drafting T.J. Lang and Jamon Meredith (possible steal in the 5th round) should shore up the issues at OT. Johnson should give a bruising presence at FB for Grant. Beyond that, it's a crapshoot, but I like the potential in Brandon Underwood, a tOSU calibur-player who got kicked off the team and made All-Big East at Cinci.

I think Woodson and Harris have another year left in them. Next year, a first-round pick or free agent acquisition (yeah, right) at CB is a necessity.

I agree the packers did fine. What I would worry about if I were cheesehead is if Kampman can be a decent OLB in a 3-4 defense. I dont see that transition going smoothly for him, and he cant play with his hand in the dirt in a 3-4 because he wont eat up enough blocks and it would be pointless.

also for you 'arrowheads(?)' out there

If Greg Ellis could do it, I see no reason to think that Aaron Kampman can't.

Cowboys....probably about a D+.

They had some picks in there that bolstered their D (Jason and Brandom Williams, Butler, Hodge) but their WTF on the kicker in the 5th round and not taking a WR until the 7th round just leave me a bit confused.

Did not address all their needs and the ones they did address I felt they addressed too late in the draft. At least they bolstered the front 7 again and the defense should still be good.

Not sure about the future of the offense though.

one thing I like about the bears 1st draft pick... Ridiculous athleticism. Watch and see.

having TO gone will do wonders for Roy Williams and especially Tony Romo... he doesnt have to worry about that ******* moron anymore and can just play the game. i dont like the cowboys, but they will be good.

Re: draft is over rate your team

I think the Vikings did alright. My biggest complaint is that they could have probably traded down and got Harvin a bit later, but picking a guy about 6 spots too early is not the worst thing in the world.

I'm going to have to disagree with the claim that Harvin would have been available later.

I base this on the answer to two questions:

What team tried to conceal their workout of Harvin the day after the Childress had his visit with him?

What team with the pick immediately after the Vikings elected to trade that pick (often a result of their guy no longer being available)?

The answer to both questions is the New England Patriots.

Eagles coach Andy Reid also told Childress that the Patriots discussed a deal that would have jumped them one slot ahead of the Vikings. They passed on the trade because they were convinced that the Vikings would end up backing away from Harvin when Oher was still available.

Re: draft is over rate your team

Bears-:arghh:

the only decent picks they got here are DJ Moore (as part of their Vanderbilt love fest) and Juaquin Iglesias. Iglesias has potential to replace Rasheid Davis as the #3 reciever. DJ Moore is solid overall.

Pissed that they traded the 2nd round pick when they could have gotten William Moore from Missouri. Also could have gotten Mohammed Massaquoi (whom I suppose they werent high on, so that is forgiveable) or Ramses Barden who would have been great with a tad of coaching with their first third rounder.

Sometimes less is more, especially when you draft a whole bunch of guys that wont be on the team longer'n 2 years.

I completely disagree. I thought Angelo did a good job. Their first pick came in the 3rd round and they walked away with 3 players that many projected to be gone by the end of the 2nd round. They got lucky with trading their 49th pick. They could have taken Massaquoi right there(and I don't think he's much better than Iglesias). By Iglesias falling all the way to 99, they still got their receiver and one of the most athletic pass rushers in the class as a bonus. I loved the Jarron Gilbert pick. The only pick I didn't love was Melton from Texas. And then they wrap it up with a project receiver in Johnny Knox in the 5th round that happened to have the fastest 40 time at the combine. He has good hands and ridiculous speed.. very raw. but not too bad for a 5th round pick.. I'm a believer in the theory that you can never have too many receivers that run a 4.25 40.. yeah, 4.25.. pretty sick.

For the vikes, it could range from a C- to an A-. It boils down to how Harvin does with the purple. He could potentially see some pretty soft coverage (the Pack come to mind), especially with AP in the backfield and Berrian garnering at least some respect. That is, if he manages to stay on the field.
