Doctor Who

I like David Tennant as the Doctor. Not so sure about the young kid who is replacing him in 2010.

I liked Christopher Eccleston a little better than David Tennant, but its still good.

I grew up watching the show, when Tom Baker was the doctor.

The thread title immediately brought back memories of Who Doctor Who - one of the all time best names for a thoroughbred. He was a legendary and wildly popular main attraction from the glory days of the old Ak-Sar-Ben track.

I only watch who for sound off, other wise I watch KCCI.

Doctor Who and its spinoff Torchwood are two of my favorite shows on TV. Did anybody catch the Torchwood miniseries on BBC America last week?

I think Peter Davison was the first one I saw, But I loved watching Baker, and McCoy. I also loved when they had the "reunion" type shows where the past Drs got together.

I loved Chris E. and David grew on me. He's done a really great job. I'm a bit scared about the new one..."gothic like" are the rumors.

Great series. I don't watch it often, but it's rare I don't like what I see.

The British do a better job of relying on real acting and not special effects to make their shows(what else would you expect from the culture that created Shakespeare).

I think a part of that is the BBC produces almost everything. I get the feeling that they are more tied to a budget than producers here.

Huge Doctor Who and Torchwood fan right here (note the avatar). Really love David Tennant's Doctor, pretty skeptical about this new young guy for 2010.
I do my best to spread the goodness of Who to all who come in contact with me:yes:

Love the Doctor.

I've got every episode that still exists (the beeb threw a bunch away in the 70s and they don't exist anywhere) around here somewhere. I've seen them all at least once, including the (pretty bad) movies.

I think its the best sci fi show of all time. 70's British TV is so awesome. Dr. Who, Blake's 7, Last of the Summer Wine, Monty Python, Benny Hill, Are You Being Served, Dad's Army, The Goodies....

Tom Baker is clearly the most popular, but I'm a big Pertwee fan myself, followed by Baker and then Troughton (who is the most underrated, I'd argue, and also had the most episodes destroyed). I never much cared for Davison, McCoy or Baker.

I wish Eccleston would have stuck with it. I really liked him. I honestly haven't seen a whole lot of Tennant to be honest.

Enjoy it when I see it, but I have a hard time keeping track of when it airs on Sci-fi and am never home on Saturday nights when it's on Iowa public tv.

yeah i have a tape thing set up so it tapes every episode on tv so its pretty handy.

That's one reason why I wish we had Dvr or Tivo. I could program it to record anything Dr Who....and maybe get some of the old stuff. I'm not sure IA PBS is running the old stuff anymore though. And I can't stay up till midnight Saturday nights any more to find out.

I think my brother said IA was one of the last states to still rerun it.....but that was years ago.
