JP will make a fantastic political campaign manager. He runs the smear campaign beautifully to topple those he does not want. And he does a nice sales job with those he does want.
What is your point? Those are good qualities to have in an AD. Sell your ideas, and convince people to find fault in ideas that you don't like.
My point is that we were sold a lemon. And a recall is in order.
Well, you're just going to have to make lemonade for another year, then.
I can't make lemonade with this crap. Tastes like ****.
Are you using CountryTime brand lemonade mix? That would explain a lot.
Ames- What do you want-good practices of good games? I know what I want and I miss those days. JP screwed up badly by meddling in year 3 and not giving Morgan at least year 4, and we've paid a horrible price in basketball ever since. Those are the facts in spite of any rumors and unjustified opinions.
FASTCO.
With a starting line-up in year 4 of Stinson, Blaylock, Clark, and an experienced Jiri and Taggart, I don't think the program was going down, and in fact that line-up a year older had a great chance of getting in the NCAA and doing well imo. I didn't see any practices (though I find it hard to believe Archibald would be involved in coaching unorganized practices from what I know about him), but whether I believe you or the people saying Morgan's practices were not unorganized, my question to you remains the same. What do you want, good practices and bad games, or bad practices (if that's your opinion) and good games beating ranked teams and having post season success. I've stated what I prefer.
Here is why I heard there was such a problem with WM...APR had us very close to some big punishments. I have also heard that as long as the numbers keep going up the punishments will stay away.
NCAA Academic Reform - NCAA.org
The numbers;
09-10 - Not yet published
08-09 - Couldn't find or not yet published
07-08 - 877
06-07 - 869
05-06 - 852
04-05 - 891
03-04 - 846
and here was a section from the link about the punishments
Teams with APR scores below 900 face additional sanctions under the historical penalty structure, now in its third year
- First-year sanction is a public warning letter for poor performance.
- Second-year sanctions include restrictions on scholarships and practice time.
- Third-year sanctions result in loss of postseason competition for the team (such as a bowl game or the men’s basketball tournament).
- Four consecutive years of poor academic performance results in restricted membership status for an institution. This means the school will not be considered a Division I college or university.
If these are correct and we were close to a big penalty it makes sense to me why this wasn't used as a public reason for changing coaches. Surely someone on here knows more about all this than I do....I was just curious so I looked around on the NCAA website, I still don't really understand the whole thing.
So again you have second hand info and I'm supposed to think that's better than my first hand knowledge?
As of right now I'll take losing from a coach that does things the right way. Ask me again after next year. Next year I might be ready for anything; maybe even cheating and paying players. Winning is fun so who knows. Maybe we could start hiring players parents to help coach.
