Departures?

I too heard rumors of Kamari having second thoughts a month or so ago. I might break down if I lose my favorite player... :( Hopefully he is staying for sure.

  1. Grant Rohach *
  2. Trevor Hodge
  3. Martinez Syria
  4. Tyler Brown *
  5. Josh Thomas *
  6. D'VarioMontgomery *
  7. Nick Severs *
  8. Daniel Burton *
  9. Devlyn Cousin
  10. DeAmontnae Jackson
  11. Justin Madison
  12. Luke Knott *
  13. Stephon Brown
  14. Karmari Syrie
Haven't heard this name in at least 2 years. Thought he was long gone.

Sam George (DE-JR) is no longer on the roster. Was a walk-on.

Catalina was committed so he can be seen as somewhat of a departure. With him out, Iowa State is at 93 scholarships used for 2016.

That's an interesting spreadsheet, timhisu. Looking at it, I see some position groups that may be a bit heavy. For sure, 13 WR's is a lot. 18 DL is a lot as well, but 11 of them are upperclassmen. Also, I think 16 DB's is a lot, especially considering only 5 are upperclassmen. That would certainly seem like the first choices for the remaining 8 departures.

Other things of note are that we have the right number of OL, but a lot are upperclassmen. Would assume that will be a big area of emphasis in the next class. Also, assuming this senior class stays at 19 guys, we will be in position for a pretty good-sized recruiting class again in 2017. Can always expect normal attrition of 4-5 guys I would think. Thanks for sharing this-good stuff.

I think we brought in like 7 of them this year right? Seems we will need quality on OL but could be pretty short on bodies in the front 7 on defense. I'd expect the OL and front 7 (or 6 in the 4-2-5?) would be the biggest focus.

Thanks for the work. I have been told that it is very unlikely that Nelson will make grades.

There are a couple who may very well not make it. I'll remove them once it's official :)

Was out last week skiing in Colorado so I missed the Dunning news. I've removed him from the 2016 Scholarship Chart. Down to 92 now.
