Quan West (WR-SR) is taking a medical hardship and will no longer be with the team. That leaves @CycloneFB with 90 scholarship players for 85 spots in 2016. The 2016 status of former walk-ons Nick Fett and Josh Jahlas remains uncertain also. The real number COULD be 92.

That really sucks for Glenn because he seemed so excited to play for ISU, and it sounded like he would have played it he stayed healthy.

Medical Exemption would probably be a more accurate term. A medical exemption means the player gets the scholarship to finish school as if they were on scholarship. The scholarship does not count towards the scholarship limit. By using the medical exemption the team is not suffering from losing a scholarship for a player that has been physically injured enough to have ended their career. And the player still gets the benefit of getting their education through scholarship.

it is pretty scary. I am hoping for another JUCO DT and DE added. I think we have some quality younger guys, but we just don't have the numbers. especially with Uwazurike still not being on campus(last i heard). I'm also a little worried we don't have any DT high school guys in the recruiting class so far.
